I'm quite surprised that my mom let me come over to Monica's house, but then again, I'm not.
She hasn't seen Audrey in a few months, so being able to see her again gives me time with Monica. Seeing as the two will be talking for a few hours.
Monica opened the front door. She opened her arms and pulled me in for a hug."I'm kinda surprised that your mom let you stay here," she whispered into my ear, mid-hug.
"I'm not," I said before pulling away.
She gave me an odd look, but continued to smile and hugged my mom."Marcy! I haven't seen you in months!" Monica said.
"I know, if only Angela came over more," my mom said.
Throw me under the fucking bus, will you?
Monica opened the door and stood aside for both of us to come in.
"My mom is in the kitchen," Monica said to my mom before dragging me up the stairs.
We stomped up the stairs and entered her room, sitting on the bed.
"What was that?" she asked.
"What? Mom? She's always like that, blaming me for her stupid shit," I replied.
"Well, I could sense the tension between you two."
"Yeah."
"Oh! Guess who's going to the fall dance with me."
"Who? Spare the details."
"Chris Anderson. He asked me in sixth hour today. It was so cute!" she squealed, jumping up and down on her bed.
I looked around her room for every excuse not to tell her about MY boy toy(don't know what else to call him). But if Monica could sense the tension between my mom and I, then she could definitely sense that I'm hiding something important from her.
"Oh my gosh," she said, "you're hiding something from me aren't you?"
Speak of the damn devil!
I looked around the room again and tried to avoid eye contact with her. She definitely had those senses that I've been expecting.
"Um, no," I said.
"Spill!" she hissed.
Not telling Monica an important thing is like trying to kill a murderer with his own weapon. She gets to the point where you can't even breath before you tell her.
"It's a long story."
"I'm up for a long story. Now fucking spill the shit Carter," she hissed again.
"Okay, jeez. So yesterday, after council, I ran into Jordan and a teacher caught him skipping, so he brought me with him. Well, we went to Pronto Pup and got corn dogs. While we were in line, a cute boy made his way over to me, but Jordan grabbed my hand and played it off like we were dating," I paused, trying to conjure up more from my memory.
"Go on," she said, gesturing for me to spit out more of the details.
"I kind of scolded him, he got really pouty about it. I told him to take me back to school, but school ended so he took me home. Michael watched me come in the house and he knew I skipped, but he didn't know that it was with Jordan. Then he told me that Matt asked about me because he hadn't seen me all day. So Michael sort of bitched at me, but I ended up yelling at Matt, who now knows that I was skipping with Jordan and-" I was cut off by Monica, who was holding her finger up.
"Slow the fuck down. You're rambling on and on. I can barely even make out what you're saying."
"Well, Matt told Jordan to come over for dinner at my house, which I yexted at him for, and then I told Jordan that him and I have to act like we are dating. He told me that he wants sex or no deal."
