Sunlight was determined. More determined than the light and fire inside of Jin's shrivelled soul. Despite there only being a thin gap in the aqua curtains, the strong light caused the boy to be escorted out of sleep. Someone entered after he had spent another hour drifting in and out of consciousness. Mrs Kim smiled at her boy and glided over, landing a small kiss on his forehead and gently shaking him awake. Jin's eyes fluttered open and he looked at his mother with a dead gaze. "Sit up please," she instructed calmly and sat down next to him when Jin had pulled himself up. "I got an email today... Kim Namjoon wants to know if you would like to continue the therapy sessions."

Silence

"Jinnie... Jinnie my pride, I need to know if you're happy or not... please talk to me." Desperation laced her voice instead of the natural bravery. Her beautiful face was hanging in pain and concern. Finding Jin rotting on the ground in complete solitude seemed like decades ago, but she still felt like absolutely no progress had been made.

However,

A miracle struck.

Lips curving up at the edges causing his cheeks to raise and his eyes to transform into little moon-like crescents. Jin smiled. He smiled at the thought of therapy and his mother felt like she had just been kissed by an angel. When he nodded, Mrs Kim felt like shedding overjoyed tears. "What was different this time?" She asked sweetly, taking Jin's slender hand and caressing his palm with her thumb.

"He was... he was kind. And he was patient." Jin mumbled.

"And the last therapist wasn't?"

Again, silence. "The last one was fine."

Mrs Kim didn't know if she was being told the truth or not but she decided to just go along with it. At least now she had found someone that had made Jin smile - finally, it had felt like the first step had been taken!

"So... what did Namjoon do? How did the session go?" Mrs Kim enthusiastically asked him. Jin hadn't told her anything yesterday. The second Namjoon bid his farewells Jin was asleep on the sofa. That was quite common; even if it was obviously not ideal the fact that Jin wasn't struggling with sleep reassured her. Anyway, perhaps hearing what the therapist does would help her to be a better mother to her beloved son.

Rather discouragingly, Jin only shrugged. "Asked me questions like what my name was and stuff like that. He didn't get mad when I said nothing or when I snapped at him..."

"That's great honey... you have no idea how happy I am to hear that," Mrs Kim smiled brightly. The conversation had stopped so to bring it back, she whispered, "Namjoon is pretty handsome, isn't he?" She laughed when Jin batted her away and then she kissed his forehead lovingly. "I've made breakfast, come down soon."
