Harry wasn't supposed to be there. In fact, he should been in bed that night, sleeping instead of being here. He could think of a thousand places he would rather be than here at this moment.
How did he even get here? He couldn't sleep.
Of course I can't sleep.
It wasn't anything new to him. Even after everything was done with, even after the battle of Hogwarts, even after defeating the dark lord himself, the events of it all haunted his dreams. Every night he relived the horrors of watching all the ones he loved die over and over again. And there was never a getting used to it. No matter what, he would wake up in a cold sweat while his breathing cane out in short gasps for air. And he had given up hope that it would ever get better.
Nights like this, led him to go on walks. He would take his invisibility cloak and he would usually walk outside to the quidditch field. Something about being there... it was calming. Maybe it was because he had always loved the feeling of flying so much that he had attached the feeling to the place itself. And that's what he did.
Harry had woken up from his nightmare and looked at the watch he wore on his wrist that read 1:30. With a small sigh, he swung his legs over the side of the bed and grabbed his invisibility cloak from his trunk. Once it was over him, he set off through the castle grounds. The castle grounds were deadly silent as he made his way down the moving staircases and though the hallways and eventually outside the school.
The feeling of the cool night air hit Harry as he exited the school. There was something about the night that had always drawn Harry to it. The smell of grass and dirt and the sight of the twinkling stars above his head. It all made him feel like he wasn't anything special for once. And for the small amount of time he stepped into the dark quiet world of the night, no one relied on him anymore. He wasn't the-boy-that-lived. He was Harry Potter. An 8th year Gryffindor with two amazing friends.
At last he had reached the quidditch field. He was about to make his way into the center of the field when something caught his eyes. On the other side of the field, was none other than Draco Malfoy. Harry watched as Draco looked around the field cautiously and made way out of the stadium and made his way towards the dark forest.
Harry couldn't believe his eyes. What on earth was Draco Malfoy doing at this time in the morning walking towards the dark forest. Draco was terrified of that place. Everyone knew that.
Quickly Harry made his way towards the Dark Forest, careful not to be seen, but also careful not to lose sight of Draco. He followed Draco for a good 10 minutes before Draco came to a sudden stop. Harry was about 10 feet away from him when Draco began to pace the tiny space of the forest they were currently in.
"You have to do this Draco."He mumbled to himself in a voice that immediately Harry recognized he'd fear hidden inside it. Draco looked around the forest.
"Okay... we are a good distance between the school..." he wasn't getting anymore calm as he spoke this. Harry noticed that Draco began fumbling with his hands.
"This is your only chance for people to finally move past it all Draco." He let out a huge sigh before pulling out a small little silk bag out of his robe and emptying the contents out on the forest floor. Harry watched as Draco began mixing the ingredients into a small cauldron that he hadn't noticed had been sitting near the trunk of tree.
After what seemed like a very long time, Draco hhad dumped the contents of the potion had had just made into a very small vial and hovered his wand over the vial.
"Here goes nothing..." he looked around the area once more to make sure no one was around. "Gramdio Maxilia." He said causing the vial in his hand turn a bright pink color. Draco took no time to swallow the potion.Having watched all of this, Harry was full of so many questions that he wanted to ask Draco, but he knew he couldn't expose himself here. Not now. Harry stayed in place, knowing he should wait until Malfoy had gotten far enough away from him before leaving. That didn't go as planned at Draco stood up and started walking away only to begin stumbling over his own feet. Harry watched as Draco held his arm out and leaned against a tree to steady himself.
"No..." he said as he took small stumbling step forward again.
"This isn't right..." he had made his way to another tree. Harry was now getting extremely worried about Draco. He was now watching with caution, trying to decide if he should move forward yet or not.
"Whose out there?" Draco said in a voice that was slipping away from reality.
"I know your out there... the potion only has this effect if..." and he stopped mid-sentence, before he feel into the forest ground.Harry couldn't do it. He ripped off his invisibility cloak and ran to Draco's side. Draco wasn't completely gone yet. He stared at Harry with so many mixed emotions in his eyes.
"Oh, Potter... what have you done..." he said before passing out leaving Harry and Draco alone in the middle of dark forest in the middle of the night, with no way of getting the both of them back to the school.————————————————————————-
Hours had passed and Harry still sat on the forest floor in hopes for Draco to wake up soon.It was about 4:30 in the morning before Draco began to open his eyes. The first look that crossed his face was confusion of where he was. And slowly, as he remembered the events of the night before, a look of concern showed on his face. He looked up at Harry and didn't say anything for a long time. Just stared at him as if he was trying to figure out exactly what to say. So Harry decided to start.
"What happened here last night?" He asked Draco, trying not to assume the worst. But given their past, Harry knew Draco was never up to anything good. Draco looked down at the ground, still looking like he was still trying to figure something out as well.
"I was... What were you doing out here?" He said not being able to hide the feelings in his voice. He was scared. He was panicking. "Do you know what you've done?" He said in full panic now.
"I was supposed to be alone... the spell only worked right if I was alone!"Harry was getting a little frustrated.
"What do you mean you had to be alone? What was the potion Malfoy? What was it supposed to do?"
Draco closed his eyes, clearly trying everything he could to calm himself down."The potion... it was an admiration potion. It was supposed to help the person who took the potion seem more likable to the people around him. If you cast the spell that sets the potion when someone is around..." he stopped opening his eyes and looking at Harry with a saddened look plastered on it.
"What does it do?" Harry said trying to not show his aggravation rising. Draco looked back out at the ground, tears forming in his eyes.
"It..." he stumbled for how to tell Harry what the potion did.
Harry has reached the point where he couldn't stay calm."What? What does it do Malfoy?!" He yelled out with angry. Malfoy looked back up at Harry with tears steaming down his face. Harry was shocked at the reaction of Malfoy. He actually felt bad for yelling at him. Harry felt himself calm down in worry for him.
"It makes me in love with them.." Harry wasn't expecting the answer. He stared at Draco as the rest of the world started disappearing. Draco let out another sob. Harry kept quiet as Draco continued."I am in love with you... like uncontrollably in love with you." Without even a second thought, he moved his way right to be right in front of the still shocked Harry.
"I can't seem to resist..." he started before leaning into Harry's sitting body, and kissing him passionately with a kiss.
