yet another disclaimer as i'm getting a lot of comments likening my original work to a book called cabin three - i have never read cabin three (as stated in my original introduction chapter) so any similarities are coincidental and i apologise if it appears that i have copied.
they are both summer camp books so naturally, there will be similarities, just like similar events that happen in every genre of fanfiction and books in general (e.g. dark harry, ceo harry, etc).
please stop comparing and putting down my work that i've put a lot of effort into - thank you and i hope you enjoy camp cherry :)

HANA
"Towel?"
"Yes."
"Shampoo, conditioner, body wash?"
"Of course."
"Hairbrush?"
"Really?"
The seemingly never-ending list goes on and on, finally stopping on, "tampons?"
"Yes, mom, could we go, please?"
After a gruelling look, she starts the engine of the black car and manoeuvres easily out of the driveway, still not entirely convinced we have everything. She stands correct as five minutes into the drive, I throw my hands up, "fuck! My sunglasses!"
It earns me a slap to the back of the head and a warning glare for my foul language, which I think is quite hypocritical considering the myriad of curse words that tumble from her mouth as she turns around.
"Are you one-hundred percent sure you have everything? I swear to you, Hana, I don't care if you don't have yourself, we are not coming back to this house."
"Mom, yes, we definitely, absolutely have everything," I reply exasperatedly, smiling innocently and nudging her shoulder with mine to loosen the frown on her face.
She shoots me a stern look, smoothing out the wrinkle between her furrowed eyebrows as I grin sarcastically in her direction, trying to become too much of a distraction when we're on the road. Unable to remain mad, she displays a smile herself, her hair bobbing gently as she shakes her head at my unorganised methods.
"I should stop acting like your best friend and more like your mom," she claims, and I hum in faux resistance to the idea. Soon enough, we're off driving again, half an hour late, towards the summer camp I would be staying at for six weeks, Camp Cherry.
Apparently, the owner of the camp runs a much larger company, that had built many camps, similar to the one I would be visiting, in multiple states, and even a few in Australia.
In my opinion, 'cherry' is a bit of a stupid name for a camp, but I was just glad I wasn't attending some of the others my mom had read from the long list, all named after different fruit - Dragonfruit, Nectarine, Kumquat. What sane adult names a camp for adolescent children Kumquat? That's just asking for trouble.
"Mom, please, please, please, can we get a McDonald's on the way there, please?" I emphasize each 'please', hoping that she'll agree eventually.
"You can only have fries. No burger."
I pout, turning to her to try to persuade her, "please? It'll be my last one in almost two months!"
I can see her resolve begin to crumble, so I back away, knowing if I ask again, she'll be sure to deny.
"Fine, but you owe me a one as soon as you get home."
