*** PROLOGUE ***

Crouching on the ground in the dark deserted alleyways of Whisper a beast of a man awaits. His purpose? to find an unsuspecting victim to curb the unbearable burning in his body that yearns to hear the screams and hot curdling blood running out of their lifeless bodies.

The back doors to the pub down the alleyway bursts open as a figure wobbles down the stairs.

As he is spying his victim, his blood boils in anticipation, how long has it been since his last kill? far too long he realises as his eyes glaze over, glassy in the excitment of the hunt.

Stepping around the large trash cans he takes his steps in large strides wanting to reach the person before they make it on the 'busy' road. No noise makes its way to the figure hobbling down the lane as the rain crashing down with so much brutal force it leaves only the beast with the upper hand.

Mandy had just finished her shift at Joes Bar, with the thought of a hot bath and new clothes on mind she hurriedly grabs her coat shoving her arms through and thrusting her hands into the coat pockets.

She rushes to the back door, pushing her upper body against the door as she bursts through, cussing immediately when she realises the amount of rain pouring down and forgetting to bring an umbrella to work.

She wraps her coat tighter around her fragile body, and starts to speed walk towards her car, the ominous feeling that something bad is lurking around passes through her being, she turns her head to the side as the heavy rain turns into a light drizzle.

The black blur breezing past the opening of the alley has her body rigid as many horrifying scenarios swarm through her brain, was she going to be Kidnapped? Raped? Or worse murdered?

The last though has her bolting to her car, the beat up red Ford comes into view as her feet carry her along. Amongst the jagged breathes she breathes in, trying to calm her furious heart she clutches her keys that wereburried in the bottom of her bag.

The rain has stopped falling, somehow it felt like nature was warning her to get out of there, as something far beyond her being was present.

Mandy readies her keys and as she is about to jam them in to her car door to unlock it, her breath stops as an excruciating pain fills her whole being starting from the side of her neck all the way to her mid back, the undeniable feeling of hot bubbling blood dripping down her back as the pain slowly fades she notices she had been tensing her whole body and tries to relax but the throbbing pain is unbearable. She then turns around preparing her self to attack when necessary, but the only thing that greets her is the empty road devoid of anyone, where was her attacker?

Not dwelling on it any longer she clutches her bag that she dropped and throws it into her passenger seat as she dives in herself, shoves her keys into the ignition and starts up the car.

She speeds down the street and makes it back home in record time. Her hands were shaking, a cold sweat forming on her brow, gaze unsteady, feeling the queasy rumbles in her belly. Who could it have been that attacked her? She must have been sitting in her car for about 10 minutes pondering that thought .

Just when she is reaches over to unbuckle her seat belt her side window explodes with the force unknown, shards of glass raining down everywhere as a shrilly scream erupts from her being.

Then it stops. The deserted street all of a sudden quiet, the black sploges that were dancing across her vision start to take her under, the last thing she sees being a tall dark and mysterious man leaning over to grab her hair through the window. with a sudden jerk he brings her head to the side and smirks as he sinks his head into her neck to feast on her delicious blood, the look of horror flashes across Mandys eyes as she realises the man was draining her and her body was loosing in essence.

She finnaly falls into the ignorant bliss of death with a moan of pain.

And that was the end of Mandy Moore
