KNOCK.
KNOCK.
KNOCK.
The door rattled slightly with the noise and Carlos lazily looked over towards it. He'd been awake for hours and was feeling tired after having his bandages changed.
All he was certain of was the constant headache he'd had since he could remember.
"Come in."
The silver handle turned and in walked the boy from yesterday. He had dark brown hair and the most startling icy blue eyes. They were surrounded by dark circles making him seem older. Carlos stared for several seconds before realising and turning away. He was wearing black, brown and red leather clothes and had a nervous expression.
He came closer and sat down on the empty chair to his left. The lad's hand went out, seemingly to take his, then retreated it with a frown.
"Hi Carlos. I'm Harry, we know each other. We're... friends." he finished with a sigh. His pale eyes looked lost.
"How do I know you?"
"Well we both grew up on the Ilse and I came over to help defeat Audrey; she was the one who-" clasping a hand over his mouth he turned away.
"What's wrong?" Carlos asked concerned. He was starting to get some answers.
"Well the doctor told me about your, um, amnesia and said you have anxiety and PTSD. He said too much information would overwhelm you and we have to let you recover."
"We?"
Harry's face was plastered in shock. Did his love really forget that much?
"We, meaning me, Gil, Uma, Mal, Ben, Jay and Evie. We're a part of the gang. We're your closest friends, especially Evie, you two are like family."
"Ok... when can I leave?"
"The doc said you can leave with me now if you want. I could take you on a tour of Auradon?"
"Please, I can't stay here any longer. I can't breathe." he rushed out.
"What! You can't breathe? Do you need anything? Shall I get the doctor?" Harry asked getting up out of his chair.
"Hey, hey, chill okay? I mean it's too stuffy in here." he explained, ignoring his increasing heart rate and short breath. He didn't like Harry's sudden outburst.
Harry on the other hand let out a huge breath of relief and slowly slumped back down into the chair.
"Okay, I'll go and talk to doc about your dispatch. You can get ready. Here."
He held out a pile of clothes.
They were red, black and white with minimal patterns. A small chain hung off of the jeans and the jacket had a fur lining. He liked them.
"Thanks, Harry." he said, looking up with grateful eyes.
"No problem pup." he replied with a smirk before leaving the room.
Carlos steadily got out of bed and carefully removed his stiff hospital garments. He pulled the jacket over his streaked shirt when he froze. Harry called him 'pup', but why did he say that? He wasn't a dog.
Crouching down to pull on his shoes he pushed the thought to the back of his mind, where the low pulse of his headache was evergoing.
He took one last glimpse of the view from his window. The yellow sun cast tangible rays through the glass and splayed upon his cheeks. For a moment he felt at peace and enjoyed the warm ambiance. He gazed up at the blue sky with fluffy white clouds and wondered what life was like before.
Hopefully now he was going to find out.
