Dazai walked through the hallways of Port Mafia's main building. His eyes darting around warily as he strode to the elevators. He still refused to believe that nobody noticed the small chattering chibi like figure that sat on his shoulder.

She notices him cautiously scanning his surroundings. " When I say you are one of the few people that can see me, I am definitely not lying."

He does not reply to her statement, since he does want  to be mistaken for a madman for talking to thin air. His silence is within itself an answer to her.  Chuckling, she jumps off his shoulder just as the elevator doors close. She returns to her normal human size as he continues to eye her. He still seemed skeptical to the very idea of her somehow.

"Invisible to the cameras and thermal sensors too then, I presume? Because there's going to be a hell lot of them to go through before we reach Mori san's office." He informs.

"Sure." She breathes, clearly more interested in the examining the elevator walls. It would be clear as day to any sane person that she had not been inside an elevator before.

"How do you travel from place to place? You don't always teleport like you did yesterday, do you?" He enquires.

"Usually I can teleport anywhere as long as the place is within the city. It takes more energy if the place beyond city borders. My body is light so I can manage to levitate myself into the sky and propel myself to various directions when I need to do some snooping around." She states mischievously  as they step into the passage that ends at Mori's office.

Dazai declares his name and business to the guards outside as per protocol. He notices as they open the doors that she is standing farther away, definitely not planning on going inside. He raises an eyebrow at her.

"My, my a lowly being as me enter a place of such importance." She places a hand over her chest."How preposterous!" she exclaims noticing his questioning stare. He can do nothing but shake his head as he enters into the office.

He knows that she is lying. But he does not have the time to contemplate why as he soon feels Mori's stare boring into his skull. The atmosphere in the room is tenser than usual. He feels like his presence is unwanted here in this moment.

"Ah! Dazai kun you are here." Dazai can definitely detect the questioning undertone to that statement. Mori is clearly displeased with something he can't put his finger on right now . Instead he chooses to just silently give a nod to his boss.

"I have your next assignment here. Take Akutagawa kun to assist you." Dazai nods again in understanding picking up the papers from his boss's desk . " Also submit the report on your findings about Mimic later today." Mori instructs.

"Yes sir." Dazai breaks his silence for the first time since his arrival. It is clear why he hadn't spoken till now. His voice was filled with so much distaste and anger for the port mafia boss that if someone did not  know any better they would bet that he was going to lunge at the boss the next moment.

He turns to leave the office. Only to be stopped by Mori's voice once again.

" I happen to have heard about your friendship with Oda kun. My condolences." In his mind, Dazai has already slashed Mori's body with a knife about fifty times and gunned a bullet into each of his limbs. On the outside he only gives a hum of acknowledgement.

Just tell me you want me gone already, he thinks to himself as he exits the suffocating room at long last.

His eyes immediately search for a black haired female on his departure from Mori's office only to be met with the heavy stares of the port mafia dogs that guard the passageway. He makes a beeline for his office  now that he had to come up with a plan that would successfully lead to his disappearance from the Port Mafia .

"That didn't take half as long as I'd have expected." A familiar voice says as he closes the door to his office. He eyes wander around the room in search of the source , when he notices her perched atop the wooden bookcase in his office.

" He just wants to get rid of me as soon as possible." He says , throwing the papers from earlier on his on desk." And do get down from there and act like a civilized person for once." He chides.

She puffs up her cheeks but gets down from her seat nevertheless. Her eyes fall on the scattered papers on the desk. "What  is this assignment about?"She asks curiously.

" Just some smaller organisation having hijacked one of  Port Mafia's bases. We go in, we kill them and we reclaim the base. Easy." He is staring at the blueprint of the base as he answers.

"And how do you plan on disappearing during all of that?" She asks again. In all honesty Dazai is not used, to share his every thought and plan of action to anybody. He was a man who  operated alone. But he could possibly do nothing about this unexpected partnership that had been forged out of inconvenience. He did indeed have a role in the forging of this strange alliance, but he definitely still had his doubts. He needed them to cleared first.

" I still have no idea. I guess I'll just have to wing it." He lies too.

" Akutagawa you take the Unit 3  and clear the basement area. Unit 1 and Unit 4 take the 5th and 6th floor." Dazai instructs in a cold voice. He had purposely bought less forces than were necessary, since they would only come in the way of his escape. He had sent Akutagawa farthest from his exit point. Even if this mission ended up being a failure, he did not care anymore. The moment Odasaku had taken his last breath Dazai had shed his title as a Port Mafia dog.

He only had one more thing to take care of before leaving this tall building. He hastily climbs the stairs, dropping the note he had meant for his subordinates to find later. He also takes out the earpiece that transmits the voices of many people asking for orders. He throws the device down and steps on it as he carries on with his climb up the stairs. He throws the door to the rooftop open. His face is met harsh winds that make his hair whip back and forth.

He contemplates what his plan had led to  till now. He found the spirit he had encountered  to be quite formidable. She was conniving as much if not more than him. She had correctly guessed this morning that he was planning to leave the mafia when sent on a mission. Though she had made a really good show of only being curious of new surroundings, he knew that she had been snooping around in his apartment this morning before he had awaken.

It would not come as surprise to him if she had never changed her mind about ending his life. Putting up a friendly front, whilst stabbing in the back was after all one of the oldest tricks in the book. So he had decided to take upon himself the the job of determining whether  she was trying to trick him or if her promise of protecting him was genuine.

In all his years in the mafia if he had learnt one thing about a person's loyalty, it was that their first instinct would always be to fight for the side they truly are on. He simply had to manufacture a situation where she would have to act on the basis of instinct, with only a limited amount of time to decide between life and death. He was sure her true intentions would come to light just like that.

This very logic forced him to move towards the edge of the rooftop of the tall mafia building. Before they had raided this place, she had informed him that she had seen children playing in the park just across the street. Having disappeared to the park presumably, she would definitely see him, if he were to appear in vicinity.

Satisfied with his contemplation, Dazai throws himself off the tall mafia building.
