CHAPTER 6

Lucifer's POV {Continuation}

After two years of rejecting to go anywhere, i was again invited at Mikes house for new years eve to celebrate with them and for once enjoy a day like normal people do. Being casually dressed in trousers and a shirt i left my place to go to Mike's house.

Everything was going perfectly fine till the time i was facing backwards towards the door talking to Mike's dad. I heard someone calling my name and when i turned towards the source, my eyes landed on one of the most angelic girl i had ever seen in my entire life. Standing there woth Mike in a black dress with her hair let loose, she made the moon in the night sky shine brighter.

I was mesmerised by her beauty that i could easily read her eyes. Although she was smiling and greeting but her eyes held a different story. I was afraid that if i focus enough i would be able to read it. Mike caught me staring at her and motioned me to come closer to them. As i went near i saw her looking my way and smiling. Mike introduced us to each other "Jade, this is my buddy Lucifer and Lucifer this is my cousin Jade". Just by hearing her name (which meant wisdom, clarity, justice, courage and modesty) i could easily compare it with her. Mike departed as soon as he saw his wife and family leaving Jade and i all alone.

I tried to initiate a conversation with Jade and it was something like "so Jade how have you been?" Jade just smiled and answered "i have been good myself and you?" I internally felt giddy "i have been good. So... hows life going?" I scratched the back of my neck and deep down i patted my shoulder. It was hard to think of anything cause i was never good at communicating with people apart from Mike. And just like that i learnt alot about her.

As i thought that i had enough information to fall for her, i saw a little girl around seven years old running afar with Mike's son David and another girl about her age. She was screaming "mummy mummy" and suddenly Jade smiled wider and opened her arms for that girl. I grasped the information that little girl is Jade's daughter whose name was Helen and their man of the family meaning Jade's husband Markos died three years back.

Since then she was the only one who was bringing up Helen and refused any type of support from anyone. That's what i liked about her, she was confident, loving, caring and independent. After that night i was just lost in thoughts of her smile. Never had i ever believed in love forget about love at first sight but after meeting her i started to notice things which i never did before.

After a month of struggling to control my feelings and emotions, i talked to Mike about it. He was way more than pleasant to learn this new chapter of my life. Mike let me in with other stuff about her.

Jade and Markos were childhood lovers and after they were done with their studies and Markos getting a well paid job they got married. Their couple was known as the perfect match made in heaven and everyone agreed to it. After a year of their marriage, Jade gave birth to Helen. Everything was going absolutely well between them and Helen turned 4, just after few days Markos got a call from the city for an interview. That day was a best day for them. Jade and Markos planned their future that night, Helen would get a better education in the city and after they were well settled with an apartment and some savings then they would plan for another child.

The next morning was a chaos at their house. Jade was packing clothes and some food for Markos whike Helen was spending the last moments with her father while playing hide and seek. After and hour around nine o'clock Markos left their house to the bus station. Thereafter two days Markos got the news that his job confirmed and he had about a weeks time to shift. While he was on bis way home, by the highway the bus had met an accident with a goods truck. Many were injured and maybe Markos destiny was only written till there cause he was sitting in the front seat and due to the crash he lost alot of blood and died. As a consequence, Jade had been devastated for two months but soon covered her sorrows by being busy in the farm and taking care of Helen.

When Mike finished he turned towards me and was shocked to see me tearing up. I was shocked too, i mean not in the least have i ever tear up not even when my father beat me up with an alcohol bottle which its glass pierced into me. Not wasting another day i sent my proposal for Jade through Mike. My heart cried out for the losses she went through. I just hoped she would say yes. And after a week she gave in a positive reply. I couldn't have been more happier then i was that day. After a month of being married i could shout out to the world that i was the most luckiest man on the earth. I respected Jade enough to accept the place that Markos held in Jade's heart that could never be replaced by me but she made sure to give me enough love, loyalty, trust and comfort that i could easily and happily live with her.

After three years of our marriage, Jade gave me the news that i was going to be a father. If i said earlier that i had a best day of my life the  i was wrong cause that was the most splendid day of my life. Helen seemed to be equally happ, she was very supportive towards Jade and i, although she didnt call me her father and thats okey but sje never treated me as an outsider. She was a very easy going child and would do anything you would tell her.

Six months were through Jade's pregnancy and everything was going normal until one day i was extremely late from work that it was almost midnight. Only one thought was going on in my mind that Jade, Helen and the unborn child are safe. Making my way through the thick branches of trees that had fallen down due to the heavy rain and wind, i rushed towards the way home. Since two days there was dangerous thunderstorm that it become difficult to walk but i guess today was worse.

When i reached nead our little house i couldn't clearly see but i could make out that Jade and Helen were in an argument and both of them were pulling each others. As soon as i become closer towards them, Helen left Jade's arm and due to the force Jade had stepped outside in the thunderstorm and before i could comprehend and react, there was a huge lighting bolt that fell on Jade and because of its intensive current Jade fell down. I called the doctor but by the time he arrived the baby and Jade both lost the little slow pulse they had been taking.

That night i lost my entire meaning of living a life. And from that night i made sure to treat Helen harshly and never see her nor hear a word from her.
