H.A. left their house feeling nervous, they had never needed to go out looking for a job because the last job they had was brought to them as an offer.
They walked along the small one laned road, past shops and houses. Izaville is where they lived, a small town of monsters, everything including the sky seemed to have a dark color palette. There were trees everywhere, and tall, wavy grass covered every lawn.
H.A. was deep in thought, and didn't notice a giant eyeball floating behind silently.Suddenly, the eyeball jumped up in front of them.
H.A.: Agh!
Eyeball: *New Yorker accent* Sorry, doll, did I scare ya?
H.A.: *Clutching chest and panting* YES!
Eyeball: *Chuckles* Oops! The name's Jeffery, Jeffery Iris!
H.A.: Nice to meet you Jeffery...
Jeffery: *Show host voice* So, what's a beauty like you doing out here?
H.A.: Finding a job...
Jeffery: *Texan voice* Well I'll be darned! I might be able to help with that! But first! What's YOUR name?
H.A.: H.A., but you can call me Hellish!
Jeffery: *Brit accent* That's an interesting name! Well, Hellish, where was I?... Oh! Of course! *He snaps his fingers and a quill and contract appears out of thin air* Sign this and you can work for me! The pay is TWICE as much as you were earning at your old job! Not to mention twice as fun!
H.A.: *Thinks a moment* Okay... *Takes the quill and signs the paper, causing both to disappear*Jeffery: Perfect! *Shakes their hand* I look forward to working with you!
H.A.: Me too!
Jeffery: But for now, take today off!
H.A.: Thanks!
Jeffery waves bye and vanishes in a poof of smoke. H.A. went home and told Jaz the news.
Jaz: That's great! What kind of work is he giving you?
H.A.: I'm not sure yet... but it pays better and it'll be more fun! What could happen?
