As the dim Izaville sun rose and shone on H.A.'s face, they woke with a start, panting and groaning in pain. They slowly turned to look at their wings, or, what they hoped would be their wings. H.A. shrieked and stumbled forward onto their hands and knees when they saw that there was nothing left of their wings but bloody stumps. Kathrine rushed into the room and helped H.A. sit back down.
Kathy: Good morning dear... Breakfast? *She held out a tray with eggs and bacon on it*
H.A. groaned as they stumbled towards the witchdoctor's front door and out into the streets.
H.A.: J-Jaz?...B-Biscuit!?...*They fell again, but this time didn't stand back up*
They once again looked at the stumps left on their back and began sobbing hard. They stood up, still crying, and stumbled towards Biscuit's house. Biscuit was busy not eating because he was just too worried about his friend, he just stared at the food in his plate, thinking. Jaz stayed at his house, and was doing the same thing. H.A. stumbled up to his door and banged on it loudly. Biscuit hurried to it and opened the door, as soon as he did Hellish nearly fell on him. He caught them and they sat there hugging each other while Hellish sobbed their eyes out. Jaz sprinted up to them and crashed into Hellish's stomach. Hellish hugged her tightly.
H.A.: M-my wings are gone... I'll never fly again...
Biscuit: I'm so sorry Hellish... What even took your wings?
H.A.'s eyes suddenly turn red, and their ears fold back in fury.
H.A.: JEFFERY!
Jaz: Jeffery?
H.A.: My new boss! HE did this to me! *Flinches at pain in their back*
Biscuit: Really!? What kind of monster-
H.A.: I need to find him!
Jaz: Why?
H.A.: Because, he hurt me!
Biscuit: Revenge won't help!
H.A. was breathing heavily, ears still folded back. Biscuit stares at them for a while, he'd never seen them so angry. He hugged them around the middle tightly. Biscuit: It's okay... But harming Jeffery won't get your wings back. H.A. began crying, they knew this already, but it was nice to have a friends' reasurance. They hugged him back and sobbed into his shoulder. Jaz was curled up in their lap.
H.A.: Thanks for being there for me... I think I need some fresh air...
Biscuit: Of course!
Jaz: Don't mention it...
H.A. went outside and sat in the grass, looking up at the sky they could no longer reach. They closed their eyes and tried to relax.
Meanwhile, Jeffery was cooking up an evil plot... the likes of which Izaville had never seen.
