You breathed out a sigh of relief, examining the palm-sized orb in your hand.

The small ship hummed as it cruised on autopilot through space. A scaled down version of Yondu's Ravager ships, it could hold four people comfortably. If one of your guests were okay with sleeping on the floor...

You placed your captor orb, modeled on a pokéball, into a secure safe. This bounty had been extremely easy to snag.

Too easy.

Shrugging off your worry, you set about cleaning your work bench. You intended to kill some time till reaching the nearest planet for a refuel.

Peter Quill. Starlord. He swaggered out of his ship, a content bubble of happiness surrounding him. Until Drax decided to find an issue.

"I'm sure the bathrooms are fine." Quill rolled his eyes.

"The last place didn't." Drax said. "It was a hole in the ground. I don't like holes in the ground. Much less standing over them with my pants around my ankles."

"Not every planet is the same."

Drax continued muttering about toilets, ignoring the people around him. Quill attempted to lure Gamora into a walk about the orange hued town. The desert set buildings looming around them, the dry air parched Groot. The small tree boi sat on Rocket's shoulder, a cute pout on his face.

"I am Groot."

"We'll get you some water, buddy." Rocket said. "See you idiots later."

"Don't steal anything." Gamora gave him a pointed look, ignoring Quill.

"Yeah yeah. I know." He waved dismissively.

The odd pair strolled through, hoping to find something refreshing. Stall holders shouted out their wares. People bumped and pushed, unknowingly allowing the little trash panda to pickpocket them. Rocket spotted a cafe of sorts.

"Ah, finally. Out or in, buddy?"

"I am Groot."

"Yeah. It's probably cooler inside."

"Hey, guys." Quill spoke as he caught up. "Mind if I explore the town with you? Gamora said the humidity wasn't good for her."

"Isn't good for her what?"

Quill shrugged, saying he would rather leave some things a mystery. In other words, he didn't question her further. Rocket nodded reluctantly, opening the door to the cafe.

He sat in a booth, setting Groot on the table. He paid for the icy drinks with his recently acquired new planet currency. Quill slid opposite him, placing his own order.

"You know, you could just explore places on your own."

"That's just mean." Quill said. "If you didn't want me, you coulda just said so."

"I didn't mean it like that. You never walk through a town alone..."

"I am Groot."

"Yeah, it is weird."

Quill's jaw dropped, appalled. He scooched as if to leave.

"I wanted to hang out with my friends, but you guys just wanna hurt me emotionally. All the damn time. Why are we even friends-?"

"Quilliam?"

They turned. Rocket did a double take, watching you and Quill stare at each other. Quill stood up. Then he poked your cheek.
