I still didn't feel right. Something was going on with Helen. Cassian felt fake. And I had the gut wrenching feeling. Getting out of the elevator on the fifth floor, I head to Helen's office. As I slowly approach, I hear muffled screams and something crashing to the floor. Rounding her corner, it gets louder and my gut twists harder. Bursting into Sharpe's office, I see Cassian has her pinned down and he is forcing himself on her. Running up behind him, I grab him by his shirt collar and his pants that are still up most of the way and I pull him off of her and thrust him into her bureau- busting her pictures that are on the wall above it.
Rage.
Pure inherent rage!
He gets up and tackles me into her glass coffee table. Smashing through it, glass shards sputter around us. As I look up, Helen is still laying on the desk, unmoving. Cassian's fist beats into my face a few times. The pain resonating through my skull. I grip his throat and start choking him back. By now Iggy and Lauren have shown up and Iggy incoherently says he's running to get help. Lauren can't even get into the room, because now, I have managed to get Cassian up and off me. Quickly rolling out of the glass, I put my fists up and he comes at me swinging, but body checks me into the far wall of Helen's office. He nearly puts me all the way through the dry wall. Pictures crash down upon our heads and it's just enough of a distraction to regain my ground. Helen has come too and Lauren has managed to get her out of the way before I get Cassian to the floor and straddle him. I'm seeing red. I'm feeling all the anger coursing through me.
I want him dead foe what he did to Helen.
I want him burned alive.
I want him gone from existence.
"Max!" Lauren screams. I'm still beating the shit out of Shin and he's well passed fighting. "Max! Stop!"
"Max! Stop it! Stop! Max! Please!" I hear her pleading voice full of tears.
"The police are coming." Iggy is out of breath and blood is dripping down my face and neck. I have cuts from the broken glass and I'm fairly certain my nose is broken. My hands shake with adrenaline. Iggy pull me up from Cassian, who is knocked out and his face barely recognizable. "Max, you gotta go. You gotta go now. Get some fresh
air. Just go before the police show up."He pushes me out the door and lauren holds tightly to Helen in the file room doorway. I feel my whole body heated up. I feel my blood pumping faster through my veins. Iggy takes me up to his roof top where we gardened and have shared deep conversations with each other. I pace the roof like an animal in a cage at the zoo. I'm mad with rage. I'm furious. I'm angered.
"Max, I need you to calm down. Okay? You have a lot of adrenaline coursing through you right now. You're not thinking properly." Iggy tries to calm me, but it's not working.
"I want to kill him!"
"Don't. Don't say that Max. Not now. Not with everything going on. You really did a number on him. Not to mention you scared the living daylights out of Helen." I'm slowly realizing the kind of monster I am. Yet I don't care. I want that motherfucker dead!
"He hurt her Iggy."
"I know."
"I want him dead!"
"Max! You need to breathe. You are too hyped right now. Just calm down."
"I want to see her."
"No. I can't allow that. Not when you're like this. You need to just breathe and calm down. When you're calm, you can see her." I try breathing. I try finding my calm, but the trembling in my hand is still there. It's still there and it isn't going away.
