~ Chapter 4 ~

He went to his locker room and kept his coat and pager into his locker and got a photo frame from his locker and went to Anika's ward where she was shifted. He went to her room and sat next to her and caressed her face when he noticed her eyeballs moving, he took his hand away. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at Shivay with tearful eyes. He held her hand and gave a gentle squeeze while she kept her other hand on his hand tightening the hold. She looked at him with questioning eyes while he had the same expression. She left his hand and tried to sit and Shivay helped her to sit while giving her back support. She sat properly and again held his hand. She started to speak to him while he started to avoid looking at her eyes. She forcibly made him look at her and said, "Why did you leave me Shiv. We met for dinner as that was the last day of our college and then suddenly the next day, you were nowhere to be found. I still left you a message that I need you and my uncle has fixed my marriage with someone, but you never text me back neither did you follow up on me. Why did you do this? You were my best friend and the time I needed you the most you did not come. Why Shiv why, why did you do this to me were you angry on me or was there anything that you were hiding from me. After you left a lot of things changed. Six months before I was going to get married, I won the best businesswoman award which you always wanted me to win. I wanted you to be there with me on my special day, but you weren't there cried Anika. I wanted you to take me away from this wedding saga, but you took yourself away from me. Why did you do this Shiv?" asked Anika with a quivery and loud voice while Shivay hugged her tightly. He kissed her forehead and try to soothe her, but she started to cry more loudly. He then again kissed her forehead and rubbed her tears with his hands. She looked at him with tearful eyes.

He looked in her eyes and said, "I will tell you everything but first I want to ask your forgiveness for not being there with you when you needed me the most. I know you were waiting for me, but I was not there and that is all because of our fate; that day after dinner when I went home, I receive a call. The call was from London University saying they liked my portfolio and they wanted to see me as soon as possible. I told them I will be there after a week, but they told me if I want to join the University than I must be there by tomorrow night, and I agreed with them. I came to see you the same night and to let you know about this good news, but you were not there as someone from your house told me you went out for some important issue. I also left a letter for you at college as the next day was a farewell party, but I guessed you did not get my letter. I even texted you just in case if you do not get my letter, but you did not text back. I tried calling you after I reached London several times, but I still couldn't contact you. When you won the award for the best businesswoman I was there and I even tried to talk to you but suddenly I got a call that there was a family emergency but I gave another letter to your uncle before leaving but I guess you did not get that letter. The day you were going to get married I came to your house to take you away from the marriage as I had heard you talking to someone how you did not want to marry Karan and all. I even noticed your expression when Karan was holding your waist and introducing you to his friends. You were so uncomfortable and irritated with him and that is why I asked a waiter to spill little drink on his clothes so that he leaves you alone. I came to take you away, but fate still took you away from me. Devi, I was not there with you in that difficult time of your life but please give me one more chance so that I can have my best friend back and we both can punish that demon. Please, Devi, forgive me please." They both had tears in their eyes but there was a slight reflection of happiness that they again found each other. Anika pulled him into a bone-crushing hug while hissing in pain and told him that she will forgive him for one last time and if he tried to leave her once again then she will never talk to him and will never see his face.

He chuckled at her childishness and promised her that he will never leave her alone and kissed her forehead. He gave her that photo frame that he bought with him and seeing that she started crying with happy tears as that was their favorite picture. He shushed her and asked her to never waste her precious tears. Shivay tried to lighten her mood and after a few minutes, they both then started talking about their good old days and lost into their memories. The next morning, when Gauri came to see Anika she found Shivay sleeping in sitting position near Anika while holding her hand and both having smiles on their faces. Gauri was happy that her old best friend was coming back slowly. She was going to leave the room when an alarm of Shivay's phone ringed which brought him out of his sleep, and he looked at Anika who still had a contented smile on her face. He caressed her face and kissed her forehead and was about to leave when he saw Gauri standing there. He wished her good morning and left the room to get ready for his duty. Gauri went to Anika and kissed her forehead and caressed her face. "I am really happy for you Devi and now I just wish for your happiness and Karan being sent to jail. I knew you missed Shivay and that is why I was going to tell him everything about you but looking at you too I feel like you both already know each other. I am so happy for both of you. I saw Shivay that day at an award function, and the way he was looking at you I knew he has some feelings for you, but I did not know you also felt something for him. She saw a frame near Anika's pillow and looked at it and she understood he was the same guy Anika used to miss as he was her college best friend. Anika and she met a few months after Shivay left so, she did not know Shivay personally, but she knew there was someone whom Anika considered her best friend." Thought she. She was bought out of her thoughts when she felt Anika's finger moving and she kept the frame back at its place.

Gauri helped Anika sit back up with the support of pillows and gave her water. Anika looked at her and passed her a slight smile. She then said, "Ri I was thinking about how to get that demon in jail. It won't be easy to get him to confess. Do you have any plan, or we should plan something for this as Navratri is starting tomorrow?"

Gauri passed a smile to her and said, "I was thinking the same, what about we plan everything tonight or whenever Shivay has some time between his duty as he is a doctor, he can help us with something." When she was complete, she looked at Anika who was looking at her with her big cute eyeballs while she suppressed her smile and indicated her to look at the photo frame. She passed a smile at her in a way indicating her that she agrees with her. A few hours passed and they were still talking when Shivay walked in her room. He passed a smile to both and gave a side hug to Anika and kissed her forehead while she looked at his with surprise and indicating him that Gauri was also sitting there. While he just passed a smile and started checking her reports and started checking her vitals. He then gave her supplements and sat next to her.

"Hello beautiful girls, I know I am handsome but that does not mean you will just keep looking at me and won't do anything. We should start planning on how to punish him." Said Shivay while Anika and Gauri rolled their eyes at his comments and got serious and started planning about their next step.

"Ok, then let'sdo this and I will go and work on our first step." Said Gauri and walkedout of the room and called someone. She came and informed them that their firststep would be completed by the night and send to him. His expressions would beworth watching. I have decided I will go with him to Karan's house with thishidden camera so, you both can also watch all the drama. They laughed at thatand started praying for their plan to succeed.
