I pushed my hand through the front of my hair, took a seat on one of the steps, and began looking through the photos. 'Should I write more information?' I asked myself as I looked down at my notebook, 'A little more won't hurt, right?' I chuckled. I wrote that the mastermind was the Joker, there were 4 groups of victims, 6 people in each, that I had seen 4 robbers, and that the Joker was the last one standing and was the one who had run away.
I was so into my thoughts that I didn't realize all the officers that began pouring out of their cars. "Lieutenant! There's a young girl over there!" A man pointed at me while hitting a man in the arm with a thick mustache; impressive. "Hello there, I'm Lieutenant Gordon? Did you by any chance see anything?" He smiled.
"Hello Lieutenant Gordon, I'm Kiara Wayne, and yes, I have photographs, information on the victims, mastermind, and escape vehicle." I smiled handing him my notebook and showing him the pictures I had taken of the ones held captive and the clowns.
"Wayne? Are you related to Bruce Wayne?" He asked as he read my notes."Out of everything I said, you got that?" I laughed, he nodded with sarcastic guilt. "Yes, our fathers were brothers, but to continue with the conversation of this crime, what will you guys do with my information? I might need that for my paycheck." I chuckled.
"About that, what newspaper company do you work for? Gotham Times?" He smiled as he pointed his head to follow him towards the bank. "That's correct, sir." I followed him into the bank, and saw that the manager had gotten out safely; 'thank god' I thought to myself.
"What do you say if I convinced GCPD to give you a position on the team, as an undercover detective, of some sort?" He smiled as he walked towards where the bus busted into. "Oh, I could never take that position, don't take this the wrong way, I have so much respect for how you and the GCPD risk you guys' lives for others, but I'm a complete klutz and a coward." I laughed and rubbed my neck.
"You said you knew who the mastermind was?" He asked, looking through a file, as we began walking towards a hallway; assuming it was where the safe was. "Yes, sir." I paused, "Upcoming new criminal, goes by 'Joker'."
"Well when you wanna take up the offer, just call me, but uh—Kiara was it, it doesn't matter if you're the toughest person or the weakest." He paused and showed me a picture of him standing over the manager, "—At the end of the day, we all want to know what's under all the makeup." He titled his head, holding up a printed picture of the Joker.
He smiled and then looked behind me, I turned back and it was the one and only Batman. "I-I'll go?" I pointed to the door, I saw that he was pissed, and Bruce wasn't an easy guy to calm down.
"No, stay." Bruce said with his deep voice, "I want to know what you saw and know about what happened." He looked at me. "She only got information from the outside, she took pictures and notes." He waved around the picture and notebook, then pointed to my camera.
"Him again. Who are the others?" He asked, walking up, and ending up standing next to me. "Another bunch of small-timers." Gordon rubbed his forehead. Bruce takes out some device and starts to scan a few of the bundles of cash with it. "Some of the marked bills I gave you." He looked at Gordon.
"My detectives have been making drug buys with them for weeks—" He looked at me and handed me my notebook back, and pointed his head to Bruce, as if to be saying, 'Pass it'. "—This bank was another drop for the mob, that makes five banks—we've found the bulk of their dirty cash." Gordon let out a chuckle.
"Time to move in," Bruce said as he scanned my notes. "We'll have to hit all banks simultaneously, SWAT teams, backup—" He then held his chin, "What about this Joker guy?" Gordon waves around the photo.
"One man or the entire mob?" He paused, and looked at Gordon, "He can wait." He continued with my notepad. "—When the new DA hears about this, he'll want in." He rubbed his neck.
"Do you trust him?" Bruce asked, knowing well that Gordon was going to say, yes but in an around the bush version. "Be hard to keep him out. I hear he's as stubborn as you are." Gordon looked behind me and Bruce was gone.
"My notepad!" I exclaimed as I ran to the exit of the safe. Once I reached where all the detectives and cops were, there he was talking to a female cop. "I want no one to see the surveillance, I will download the footage—" he said as he began using his wrist gadget thing.
"Done, and I want the victims of this crime to keep quiet. I don't need 3 mobs trying to hurt them, and I don't need them to know that Joker stole from them." He handed me my notebook.
"Got it! Everybody listen up!" The police officer walked away and started yelling at the workers on the case. "We need to talk," Bruce said as he pointed to the door.
Fuck.
