Next day

I sat at my wooden desk, with my ground to roof windows staring at me. The honks and squeals that escaped the cars that passed my office were extremely distracting and off throwing.

The floor I was on was the last floor, floor 8, and I could still hear them as if I were on the first floor.

"Um, Miss Wayne, will you like a cup of some warm coffee, something to be printed, anything?" My assistant, Bracken, said as he stuck his head through the door.

"Um—uh—Not that I know of, but thank you." I smiled as I kept my eyes stuck on my computer screen. "What about a cold brew?" He chuckled.

"Oh! I can totally go for a caramel cold brew right now! Yes, please." I smiled as I looked up and stared at his sharp jaw, brunette locks, and gorgeous green eyes.

"Do I have something on my face, Miss Wayne?" He smirked as he slowly began walking towards me. "Yes, the most kissable lips," I smirked as I placed my arms around his neck.

—oh, I almost forgot, also my boyfriend. He placed his plump on mine while his hands hugged my waist, I winced.

"What's wrong?" He asked in a concerned tone. "Nothing, just a bit of pain—" He looked at me with a confused look, "—you know—Bruce wanted me to start working out with him." I awkwardly smiled. He then pointed at my necklace and presented a confused look, "Where's this from?" He lifted it and placed it in between his fingers.

"Bruce uh—gave it to me as a gift." i paused, "J stands for the nickname he gave me when I was little, he used to call me, uh—Jazzy, since I love jazz." I smiled, and I noticed that he suspected something, until there was a knock at my door and my boss and best friend, Rose Sanders, walked in. "Kiara, did you get anything for that robbery at National?" Rose said as she peeked her head into my office.

"Well, hello Bracken." She smiled at Kenny. "Hello, Boss, Kiara I'll get you that cold brew, yeah?" He chuckled and began walking to the door.

"Um—ye—yeah." I nodded as I passed my hand through my hair. "Uh—the robbery you said, do you need it?" I asked as I started looking for the paper in my bag.

"Yes—What is some of the information that you found, anything good?" She said as she looked through the papers in her hand.

"I was actually there to witness the whole thing, actually." I chuckled as I handed it to her. She placed it on top of her recent pile, and as she scanned it, I saw her eyes widened to the size of a walnut.

"Wow! This is incredible! This is why you're my favorite writer and person, Kiara! You add so much emotion and at the same time add such good detail and evidence! Thank you—oh and someone's here to visit you!" She yelled in excitement as she left and Rachel entered while Bracken was behind her.

"Thank you," I yelled back as I smiled at Rachel. "Hello, Rach." I signaled for Bracken to enter the room as well. "Here you go, one cold brew for my girl." He gave me a smirk as he placed a kiss on my cheek.

"Thank you, babe." I looked at him. He left and once he closed the door, Rachel gave me a surprised and 'flirtatious' look. "So, how long has it been with you two?" She smiled.

"Why are you here?" I chuckled as I placed all my papers and other things into my briefcase.

"Bruce wants to take us out for brunch, now stop avoiding the question?" She placed her hands on my desk.

"Since Rose's party we went to a few months ago, he was there, and like two weeks ago we made it official." I giggled as I bit my bottom lip.

I just remember rubbing and dancing against him, how his hips were in perfect sync with mine and the music. My hair was placed in one hand as he kissed my neck and moved his tongue as if he were taking in all of my flavors. Just imagining what he could do down there—butterflies. His hands running all over my body and always finding their way to my thighs, his smooth yet aggressive touch sent shivers down my spine.

"Earth to Kiara?!" Rachel laughed as she waved her hands in front of my face. I shook my head and rubbed my forehead, what is this guy doing to me?

"Hey, you're invited to Bruce's party thing, right?" I asked her as I took my coat from the hanger. "Well, it is for my boyfriend, so I would think so." She chuckled.

"Of course you're gonna be there, a stupid question for me to ask." I laughed as I walked through the door with my coffee in one hand and briefcase in the other.

"No, don't worry. Why? What were you gonna ask me?" She followed behind me. "I just wanted to know what you had in mind to wear? I literally have nothing!"  I waved goodbye to the receptionist and walked into the elevator with Rachel.

"Well, I was thinking of wearing a long v-cut dress that's a dark teal almost green, and some black heels." She shrugged.

"I was thinking of this black dress, it's a one-shoulder type dress with a high cut, really cute, right? With this mask too, right?" I showed her a picture of me in my room with the dress and the mask.

"Whoa! You look so good in it! I wish I had your body!" Rachel smiled as she scanned my phone. "Thank you, but isn't it a bit much?" I tilted my head in confusion being the indecisive person I am.

"No, no, and no! You have to buy it! I heard that Bruce will allow plus 1's, so that little boyfriend of yours can probably go?" She elbowed me.

"I don't know, we just started dating, I don't think we're ready for all the nicknames, kissing, and doing everything in public—" Then the elevator doors revealed Mr. Wayne himself.

"Who exactly are you kissing?" He raised an eyebrow as he continued to side hug Rachel. "Her boyfriend, Bruce, let the poor girl live her life." Rachel said as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Well, if this fine gentleman isn't scared to do these things in public or around me, then I want to meet him." He smiled at me as he came towards me with his huge arms and tackled me. "Rachel!" I mouthed to her.

"I'll ask him if he wants to go as my plus one, okay?" I laughed and huffed as I walked towards the door.

"Kiara!" Bruce yelled out, "Yes?" I turned around and crossed my arms, "—Is this kid taller than me?" He demonstrated someone taller than him. "Why does that matter?" I laughed, he just looked at me, and I could already tell he was talking about fighting height differences. "How tall are you?" I asked. "I'm 6'2, I think?" He chuckled. "No, you both are the same height," I smirked. "Dammit! Hey, aren't you going to brunch with us?" Bruce yelled.

"I have to get ready, I wish I could." I continued to strut out the door.
