What He Didn't Tell Me

It's been 2 sun and 3 moon rises since I fell into my mind. That's the only way I know how to count time, now. I'm not worried about time. 3 days(I guess) since the ethereal lady told me her name, Melanie. Since she explained to me what was going to happen if I didn't find hope. I still remember even though it hasn't been long, hasn't been the only thing in my head.

She had looked at me with pitty in her eyes. “I'm sorry,” she had said to me with more remorse than I thought she had in her body. I hadn't spoke I only looked at her.

“I guess it's time to tell you the truth.” She sat down, on a log that appeared lot of nowhere, and sighed. “My name's Melanie. I used to be a fairy and a close friends of Daemon's.” Then why would you do this. “Now, I am a demon. And of you don't get yourself together, in a week, then you'll be just like me.” I saw tears well in her eyes. “I know how hard it is to pull yourself out of it. Especially when you're alone and no ones there to help you.” The tears spilled. “I do. I mean, obviously because I'm a demon, now. I just hope Daemon finds you in time because even though you are a very strong willed person, you won't make it without him.”

She stood up and turned around. A, pitch black, door appeared. She walked through and the door closed. That's how they leave.

I remember it all so clearly but I don't care about what she says.

You have to or you'll never be able to be with Daemon again!

Daemon isn't real.

He is and you need to recognize that!

He is not. I saw him crumble into dust!

That was the Daemon you made, not the real one!

But what if that's just a metaphor? What if everything he said to me is a lie?

You're wrong. Why else would he sleep with you. You know that's not how Daemon works!

That could be a lie, too. He could be a lie. Everything I ever knew is a lie.

Its not and you know that! You have to get out of this or you'll turn AND EVENTUALLY DIE

Maybe I want to die. Especially if everything's a lie.

There! It's doubt! You said if! There's a possibility that I can convince you not to turn! That you'll realize he truly does love you!

Just then a black door appears, much like the one Melanie made. Instead of Melanie, though, its Daemon!

His eyes set on mine and he kneeled down and engulfed me in his arms. Instead of responding I hang limply in his arms. “Ella! You're okay! I was so worried!” He cups my face. “Are you alright?”

He's not real, I'm hallucinating.

People who hallucinate don't know they are.

That's a myth.

Maybe so, but he is real.

“Ella. Ella! Please answer me!”

Try it. Ask him if he's real. It can't hurt anything.

I open my mouth and focus my eyes on him. “Are-are you real?”

“Oh, Ella.” He cradles me. “Of course I'm real. I'm so sorry.” I start to cry and he rocks me back and forth. Melanie appears, then.

“Daemon,” she says. Her voice is raspy. She smiles.

Daemon's eyes grow wide. “You're alive!” His face darkens and his eyes narrow. “But you took Ella away from me.”

She rushed to get her words out. “I'm sorry, Daemon. I faked my death because I didn't want you to see me like this. Like a demon.”

Daemon clings to me and my tears flow freely. I'm still stuck on the fact that he's real. “Why did you take her?” he growls. I close my eyes. I feel broken, empty, worn, and tired.

“Because I was jealous! I wanted you to love me!”

“What did you do to her?” he growls again. I want to laugh but I'm to empty to even try to pull a smile. Its nice to know that he loves me, that he's real.

“I did nothing!”

“Her fingers!?” He says in challenge while gently lifting my hand.

“She brought that on herself.”

“HOW!!” he screams at her.

“It was when she called you. Our(A/N: hint hint;-)...test saw her with the phone and took it from her.”

“HOW COULD THAT POSSIBLY RESULT IN BROKEN FINGERS!! YOU'RE NOT TELLING ME THE WHOLE STORY!!”

“Fine! He slapped her, okay! She dropped the phone and tried to reach for it! In order to stop her he stepped on her fingers and broke them!” Tears fall from her face. “ She's going through the change. She's turning. She hadn't even spoke to you. She'll be useless to you, now. I guess...if I can't have you no one can.” She laughs and I know she's losing her mind like all-no most demons do.

“No. You're wrong. She has talked to me. I don't want you near us and you'll respect my wishes if you want to live!” A door appears. He lifts me up and carries me through.
