Xiao Ke said that he would send a month's supply first, so really ordered enough for a month. For the next two weeks, he sent flowers every day. In the beginning, it was always the little girl at the front desk or Lu Xiaobei who received them. Later on, the flower deliveryman said that their client had specified for Mr. Zhou to accept them directly and refused to give them to anyone else. Thus, Zhou Zui started indifferently signing for a small bouquet of flowers every day. He would then expressionlessly undo the wrapping and stick the flowers into a bucket of water.

This image was a bit strange, but also was weirdly cute. Xu Lin sneakily took a short video of Zhou Zui putting the flowers in the water bucket and sent it to Xiao Ke.

Xiao Ke didn't hesitate at all and immediately sent the little girl a red envelope filled with 88 RMB. In return, Xu Lin sent him two more videos.

Xiao Ke hadn't visited in a while. He knew that if he saw Zhou Zui in person, the other would stop him from sending more flowers. Thus, he hadn't gone to the shop in two weeks, which was rare. The school project had sent them their bonuses, but there wasn't a lot this time because a lot of people had participated. The amount he got after splitting the money wasn't even twenty thousand RMB. He also received the promised fees for the two papers he had written. Xiao Ke looked at the notification saying the amount had been transferred into his account and thought to himself, I worked so hard and tired myself out so much for this project that took forever, but only received twenty thousand.

Twenty thousand wasn't even enough to pay for a more complicated sleeve by his idol, Teacher Zhou.

Originally, Xiao Ke had felt pretty good about where he was financially. He had a car, a house, and some savings. But that depended on who he compared himself to. When he compared himself to Zhou Zui, he felt a little broke. Xiao Ke wasn't hung up over this, though; he wasn't going to use a bunch of money to woo Zhou Zui. He was going to use his poor but sincere heart.

"You truly have no shame," Xiao Ke laughed as he scolded himself in the mirror.

Xiao Ke was bored while lying in bed, so he habitually flipped through Zhou Zui's Moments again. They were very repetitive. He only posted once every two or three months, and it was always a picture of a drawing or tattoo. Xiao Ke exited the page and started wondering if he should send a flirty message. He never imagined that a message from the other would pop up in the chat first.

--Teacher Xiao.

--There's no need for the flowers.

Two consecutive messages. Xiao Ke kind of wanted to laugh after reading them.

Xiao Ke squinted as he replied: I can't just stop. I already ordered enough for a month, Teacher Zhou.

He waited for Zhou Zui's response, staring at the screen. He saw the top of the screen alternate between "Zhou Zui" and "currently typing......" and wondered how long the message was going to be. Xiao Ke was pretty curious, but when Zhou Zui's reply finally did come, he burst out into laughter.

He suddenly thought Boss Zhou was really cute.

--You've spent a lot.

Xiao Ke didn't bother being courteous at all. He sent back a long string of "hahahaha"s. It was so long it got separated into several lines. Immediately after, he added: It's nothing. Don't be so polite.

Zhou Zui ignored him after that. He probably didn't know what to say in response.

Xiao Ke was extremely optimistic. He realized that even after all this time, though Zhou Zui hadn't really responded to his advances, he also hadn't flat out refused him yet. Probably because they were both adults so didn't want to make things too absolute or direct. Either way, Xiao Ke didn't care about these things. He was pretty satisfied with Zhou Zui's current semi-warm, semi-cold attitude.
