I stopped crying and sat up.
"Do you want to tell me what happened??"
"I would but I don't really want want to put all of my problems off to a stranger." I said hoping I didn't sound like a bitch.
"Hi I'm Wesley and that's Drew" "Now we're not total strangers"
"I'm Mallorie" I introduced myself
"So you gonna tell me what's up??" Wesley asked
"It's a long story"
"Well do you want us to take you home and you can tell us on the way??"
"Honestly that's the thing I want to be anywhere but home right now"
"Wow that has to be something big" Drew said
"Ya plus I don't even know where I am or how to get home from here"
"Have you thought of using your phone"
"That's the other thing I left my phone in my moms car when I got out and now I don't have any idea where to go and no one to go to....MY MUSIC!!! I don't even have that now I'm gonna die"
They found that very funny cause they both fell over in tears from laughing. If only they realized how important my music was to me. It's what I turned to every time I was mad or hurt or upset. I listened to it when I would draw or paint. I listened to it every morning while I got ready and every night when I did homework and went to bed.
"I like this girl" Drew said laughing
"Okay so you come home with us and tell us your story and then we can figure it out from there?" Wesley suggested
"Okay thank you so much"
"For what" they said at the same time
"For caring and doing something"
"Anything for you...No girl should be left crying on a beach alone" Drew spoke softly
We made our way to their car. A black convertible not bad! Wesley started driving and Drew got in the back giving me the front.
"So where do you want me to start?"
"The beginning??"
"Okay so about 12 years ago my parents pulled me away from my best friend Allie. We were like sisters. Attached at the hip Allie and Mallie. Until my parents moved me from Nebraska to California. Then after that I started spending weeks at a time at our lake house to get away from everybody. I made friends with my neighbors grandson and we were best friends and he was attractive to."
Wes let out a small giggle
"So yesterday my parents show up at the lake house and tell me I have to go home. My mom had to pack everything and my dad had to physically put me in the car but I had to go cause I'm only 16 there was nothing I could do about it. After that all I wanted to do was go home and lock my self in a room until I was 18 and could leave. but they kept doing everything they could to prolong the trip. So eventually I got mad enough and said fuck you guys I'm walking and they dropped me on the corner. At which point I realized I didn't have my phone so I figured when I wasn't home in 4 hours they would come back so I stayed on the corner but they never did so I went to the beach and cried and took some pictures and then went back to thinking and crying until you guys came along and now here we are."
"Wow so how were you staying gone for weeks at a time with school?"
"I had exceptionally high scores on my SATs and ACTs so I graduated early and I can't start collage classes until after 18. But I already have 1/2 my credits done from AP classes so yeah..."
"Damn your smart"
"Thanks" I blushed a little
"Okay so here's a harder question" Drew started "Why did you get so frustrated so easily like I understand the situation but you seem so chill"
"Well I used to never cuss never not listen I always followed the rules and was really mature for my age but eventually I got tired of my brother picking on me and no body doing anything about it or everything being my fault my problem me being the responsible one and one day I just snapped" "My grandma was the only one who I ever talked to about this stuff and I only saw her like once a month at the most so I kept it bottled up a lot"
"Why did you only talk to her?"
"She was the only one who would listen to me...everyone else always told me I was being over sensitive or dramatic"
"Okay so I know one thing now" Wesley said looking deep in thought
"What" I asked
"You aren't going back home with them"
"Then where am I going?"
Him and Drew exchanged a quick look in the mirror
