The preparations for the wedding have been almost done with just few arrangements from the groom side which they would take care of. It was Reggie's birthday day after tomorrow; he was more like the elder brother I wished to have. We celebrate his birthday every year, but this time with me in Zandar, I won't be able to meet him so I had to record this.

Thought I will take a walk across the palace and get relaxed. And my eyes fell on his Highness in a totally weird state.

A:"Never thought you are someone who studies for exams."
I looked at his book amusingly

P:" Oh hey. It's not for exams, I don't know what else to do" he kept his book aside.
"Come on in"

I gave him the piece of chocolate what I was having.
P:"Thanks. So what is going on with you nowadays"
A:"This is usually the time I get really excited, it's Reggie's birthday day after tomorrow and I'm kinda bummed I can't go there this time. And he was totally aware of my situation and fine with it. It's usually the only time of the year we are together, despite the busy schedule"
P: you still celebrate birthdays?
A: what's wrong in celebrating birthdays. I mean it comes once in a year and we gotta be happy for something if not for anything.
P: Oh I see. When is yours?
A: I haven't told you my birthday have I. It's on 25th April. Still a long way to go.
P: you look forward for every birthday don't you.
A: after what our parents did to us, the least we can do is celebrate our existence. Forget all those when is your birthday.
P: what are you gonna do knowing that.
A: don't be a cranky granny come on tell me when it is, I can get you the gift as per that.
P: chill out, I don't need any gift.
A: are you gonna tell me or not.
P: it's today.
A: Today!? You mean to-day
P: yea today
A: how come no one is doing anything. I mean you are The Prince of Zandar.
P: I don't like celebrating my birthday Anna
A: Why?

P: there is a reason.
Long time back
When I was 10, on my birthday we were excited just like you are right now, but the next day, our dad went to a war in another country and he couldn't survive, Zandar won the war but my dad succumbed in that kingdom. Our father was everything for us and it still hurts that he is not with us. Mom hoped that dad would come back but he couldn't and she lost her stability, she's with our uncle at Edinburgh. Since that I promised I will not celebrate the birthday until those who killed my father have been totally vanquished and that is why I am so protective about Jade and Ophelia.

Anna's eyes filled with tears upon hearing the story
A: I am really sorry I didn't know all these and I was totally senseless what happened to you. I should've been more considerate.

P: it's not your fault
A: but Philip, it's around 20 years ago and you have come a long way since then. I bet those people would've been eaten by sharks. It's not your fault and don't blame yourself for what happened with your parents.
P: I just can't to seem get over it Anna. I'm sorry I just spoiled everything.
A: calm down.

An idea strikes Anna's mind and she decides to put it in action.

A: you stay here. I'll come now.

P: but where are you going?

A: I can't tell you exactly unless you keep calm.

P: hey... Sometimes I don't get what is going on in her head, I guess I have to wait and see what's she gonna do

Suddenly the lights go off in the room. It's just moonlight and him.

P: Uhmm what's going on

( Somewhere from the corner)

Anna comes in with a box and candle inside.

P: " What is all this? I thought I said you I won't celebrate my birthday"
A: I know cranky granny. But you have to be really happy that you got your siblings as a support system, whatever happened has happened. You can't change what happened there but you can surely make your father proud by doing what you do the best. Now I don't make the cakes but I got few snacks in my room and a candle is enough. Before you blow this wish for something and keep to yourself.

P: since you say so.
( He blows the candle and makes his wish)
A: now it's really late , you would've had a wish right.

P: why are you gonna make it come true?
A: maybe if it's within my limits but I rather give them to god.
I got a perfect plan, how abt I make you live a day just like a normal person. No Prince title, no bodyguards, no limo jus a normal human life . I guarantee you it'll be fun 🤩🤩 how about tomorrow

P: okay .
A: tomorrow at 7 be ready. Good night😆
