Chapter 3

I screamed as I stared at the figures in front of me. My vision blurred from the tears that filled up my eyes.

"Br-Brooklyn I..It's not what you thin-"

"Son of a bitch!"

I said, as I turned away and ran for the opening in the curtains. Their images were still flashing in front of me, the image of the man I finally decided to give my heart to and a whore who I thought I didn't have to worry about.

I rushed out of the room, I could feels the stares on my back. My heart was still beating out of my chest.

The memories of him flashing before my eyes. I just wanted to go home.

I pulled out of cell phone as the stares on me grew, I could feel all the eyes of the people on the sidewalk on me. My face soaked in tears, I dialed Natalie's number.

"Hello?" She answered, but I didn't seem to be able to move my lips at that time, my throat felt parched and the weight of my heart made my mind numb.

I ran across the road to get to the other side.

As I stepped on to the highway, I felt a strong weight on my body, I felt my legs slowly losing their stand, before I could think of what was going on; I felt my body hit the ground, and the lights in front of my fading.

Something not right..my mind finally spoke, as I felt my consciousness disappear.

"She's waking up.." I heard a familiar voice faintly speak.

I slowly opened my eyes but the room was too bright. I felt like my eyes were being pierced from the light..I slowly moved my hands onto my eyes.

I tried to sit up but the person held my shoulder down.

My throat was parched and dry and the words I tried to speak stayed on my lips.

"Tha-anks" I said to the person who dimmed the lights for me.

"Baby what happened to you?" The voice asked. This time I could hear clearly and I knew who the person in the room was.

I look up at the man I have known all my life, the only man I know for sure will always be there with me no matter what obstacles he face.

"Dad..I don ...what h-appened?" I asked as he turned to the table to get me a glass of water.

"You were in an accident. You were almost run over by a car. Thankfully the driver slowed down in time to stop the car." He said, as he slowly made me sit up.

" Dad, I-"

"The witnesses said you ran across the road when the vehicle signal switched green, baby, were you.."

"DAD! NO! Of course not..just because that asshole cheated on me doesn't mean I'm going to kill my-self. You know me better than that " I raised my voice as i felt my chest crumble from pain.

"Baby I'm so sorry! I am so sorry to hear that, it's alright..its okay..I'm here for you.." He said, as he hugged me and I broke.

I cried on his shoulder as he hugged me.

"You're in high-school sweety, the rest of your life is open in front of you and you know how i met your mom, guess what, I'm sure you're gonna meet someone so awesome I'd be jealous of him..or her... you know...I'm okay if you wanna switch it u-"
