It was a cloudy day. I had just finished school and was on my way to my father's agency to have a class of martial arts when it started raining:
- Bloody hell - I muttered and opened my umbrella. Im glad I accepted my maid's advice and brought the object with me
People started running away from the rain, trying to find shelter and trying to cover their heads with their suitcases or coats. All except one.
A little boy.
He seemed like he was 10 or 11 and had dirty clothes, dirty hair but even though his face was dirty, I could still notice his good looks. He was definitely not prepared to this weather tho. He was wearing a pair of old black sneakers, blue ripped pants, a Grey shirt saying 'Dragon Ball', a oversized black coat and an old red beanie.
I have to admit, I wasn't the nicest person, I really wasn't, but I couldn't just sit and watch that poor kid being all alone next to a shopping center.
I made my way towards him and when I got close enough, he looked at me. He seemed tired and I noticed how pale he was:
- Hey - I said trying to be nice - How's it going?
He turned his eyes back to the floor, ignoring my stupid question. I sat next to him, putting the umbrella above our heads, shielding us from the rain:
- I noticed you from across the street. Are you lost? Where are your parents?
- They gave me to adoption - he said weakly
- Where are your foster parents then?
He didn't reply:
- Okay... So my name is Chaeyoung and I'm 14, but you can just call me Rosé - I smiled and he seemed curious - I don't like people and like to be alone and to fight. I don't even know why I came here to talk to you since I'm an anti social person
He chuckled:
- I'm San. My foster parents gave me that name. They were really nice parents but then my father died.. And my mother married somebody else. He arrived home drunk and hit me everyday. So one day I decided to leave. That happened 8 months ago
I looked shocked at him:
- You've been living in the streets for the past 8 months?!? How did you survive?!
- I really don't know.. Scavenging? Pleading? Maybe... Stealing? - he stopped, afraid that I would judge him
- Well... My mom died too and I stayed with my father and my grandparents. My father runs a bodyguard agency and he's an workaholic so most of the time I stay with my grandparents... I mean, I used to - I looked down sad - I started training with my grandpa since I was 10 to become a bodyguard! But now my grandma got sick and they don't want me to see her so I have to stay home with my maid. I wake up, go to school on foot, have classes, leave school, go to my father's agency to practice martial arts or to have classes about being a bodyguard, wait for my maid to come pick me up, arrive home do my homework, eat dinner, go to bed and at midnight my dad arrives home - San's eyes widened - My legacy it's my father's company so I have to be the best bodyguard and fighter the world's ever knew. I know how to fire any type of weapon and I know how to kill someone just by applying a certain pressure on their neck. So yeah, I don't judge you if you're stealing to survive
We stayed in silence for a little while, appreciating the sound of rain colliding with my umbrella:
- I have to admit I'm surprised and impressed Rosé. You're 14 and you know how to kill and I'm 11 and know how to steal.. What an amazing duo, don't you think? - he laughed
