Bailey woke up to her alarm sounding for the 3rd time. She grumbles and looks at the time. Her eyes widen. "Shit! I'm late!" She jumps out of bed and starts putting her clothes on at super speed. "How is it that I have super speed but I'm always late?" She runs out of her room and into the common room. She sees the other Avengers in the kitchen clearly tired from just waking up. Except Steve. He looked like he had just gone on a run. Bailey grabs an apple and kisses her father. "Bye dad! Super late!" And with that she rushes out of the kitchen and to the elevator. "Bottom floor FRIDAY." The elevator goes down and Bailey put her skateboard down. School. Technically Bailey had graduated High School when she was 12, but this was Midtown. It really pushed its students, but Bailey knew it wouldn't be able to push her. Her IQ was ten points higher than she fathers, so that's a little hard to beat.Rolling up to the high school Bailey sees a guy about her age pestering another kid. He had brown hair and drown eyes. She can't help herself. She hates bullies. "Hey! Leave him alone!" Everyone looks to her shocked. Her best guess was no one spoke to the bully like this. He looks to her. "What are you going to do about it sweet cheeks?" The bully pushes her lightly and Bailey quickly grabs his hand. She turns it and a pop sound comes from his hand, the guy yelps in pain. "That." She lets go and he cradles his hand. The boy she saved looks to her amazed. "Thanks." Bailey smiles at him, then walks away into the building. Now to find the main office...
Finally having found the principle office Bailey walks in. The man sitting at the desk takes off his glasses and looks to her. "Hi, I'm Bailey the newbie." She says awkwardly. The man gestures to the chair and Bailey sits. "Ah yes. Here is your schedule and the name of your shadow." Bailey takes both pieces of paper. "Thank you." The man nods and returns to his work, Bailey takes this as her que to leave. She looks at her schedule. Advanced chemistry first, physics second, Biology third, advanced calculus fourth, and workshop fifth. Easy. Then she looks to the information on her shadow. Peter Parker. Bailey nods and heads off to find her first class.
Bailey walks into the loud classroom, class not having started yet. She walks up to the teacher and asks where Peter Parker was. The teacher absentmindedly points to the back of the classroom. Bailey sees the bully from before glare at her, but she pays him no mind and walks up to the table in the back. A big guy with short black hair looks to her and literally looks like he stops functioning. The other kid was hidden under a hood writing in his note book. "Um, hi. I'm new and my shadow is Peter?" The big kid points to the guy next to him. Then realizes he isn't paying attention hits his friend and he looks up. Its the kid Bailey helped before. He opens his mouth shocked with recognition. Bailey smiles realizing who he is and sticks her hand out. "Hi, I'm Bailey Allen." Peter smiles back and taker her hand. "Peter Parker." Bailey chuckles, then turns to his friend. "Bailey." He leaves his state of shock and takes her hand. "Ned Leeds." She smiles at him then takes the set on the end of the table next to Peter. "So what brings you to Midtown?" Ned asks. Bailey visibly winces. "I used to live in Central City, but I came back here after I woke up?" Peter perks up. "Woke up?" Bailey chuckles awkwardly. "I was in a coma for 9 months. I just woke up a month ago." Ned and Peter share a look. "Why were you in a coma?" Bailey looks to the ceiling. "Or is that personal? I'm sorry I shouldn't have asked." Bailey shakes her head. "No no. Nothing like that." She rubs the back of her neck, and the two boys next to her relax. "I was uh... actually struck by lightning." Their faces were priceless. Complete utter shock and awe. "Lightning? Like actual lighting?" Bailey nods as she straps her skateboard to her backpack. "Ya. I was working and there was a storm." The teacher starts to shush the class. "Working? You had a job?" Bailey once again nods. "Tell you later."
At the end of chem Bailey is bored. It wasn't hard at all. They had done chemical bonds and reactions. Bailey couldn't understand how people struggled with this. Peter walks next to her in the hallway on the way to their next class, guiding her. "So lightning huh? What was that like?" Bailey breaths through her nose. "Electrifying." Peter nods as he dodges a passing student. "Hey thanks for the help with Flash earlier." Bailey give Peter an amused look. "Flash? Thats his name?" Peter laughs lightly. "Its actually Eugene, but everyone calls him Flash?" Bailey snorts. "No way I am ever calling him Flash." Peter smiles at her amused that she doesn't have a care for his status. "I really hate bullies. There was this one guy when I was a kid... Tony Woodward. He used to pick on me and one day I had enough." Bailey looks to the floor smiling. "I punched him so hard, I fractured his jaw bone." Peter's jaw drops. Then he decided to change the subject. "So you had a job?" Bailey nods and lifts her head proudly. "I was a CSI in Central. CCPD hired me on the spot when I helped with a case test." Peter looks at her impressed. "A CSI? They hire at that young?" Bailey shrugged. "Not usually. They don't really look for age. Mostly skill." Peter nods, and they enter the physics classroom taking seats in the back. Class quickly starts and the teacher calls to Bailey. "Yes?" He writes on the board. "Please tell me about the terrible resistor tetrahedron." Peter pats Bailey's back. He should have warned Bailey that this teacher hated everyone, everyones jaws drop when she perfectly explains the problem. The teacher stares at her unable to speak. Bailey slouches in her seat blushing.
"How'd you know that problem?" Peter asks as they walk to biology. Bailey shrugs embarrassed. "I don't know... I just knew it." Peter is amazed by this girl. Not only did she manage to take down flash easily and with confidence, but she was extremely smart. He may or may not be in love.
Biology went by like a breeze. She did used to be a CSI after all. During lunch she had ordered a pizza. Ned and Peter watched as she ate the whole thing herself, minus a slice for each of them. In workshop Bailey got her own table in the corner, and worked on some designs for her suit. She really needed to get that on the way. The idea of lining it with vibranium came to her, she just needed to figure out how to retrofit it into the suit without it being bulky. She would also need a way of fitting scenes into her mask to have access to FRIDAY. And the color scheme was easy to choose. Her and Tony's colors. Red and Gold. Definitely. Then tech would need to be able to handle extreme amounts of electricity while she runs or it would short circuit. It would also have to be friction proof--
Bailey's thoughts were cut off by the final bell. "Damn I was really on a roll." She begins to pack up her things and her two new friends approach her. "Hey Bailey." She smiles to them in greeting. "We were going to meet at my place to do some homework. My aunt makes a mean pesto pasta." Bailey checks her phone as she gets a text from her father. He had a mission coming up and wanted to hang with Bailey before he left. "Aw, I wish I could. My dad just texted me. He wants to hang with me before he goes on a work trip." Peter looks disappointed but nods. "I better get going." Bailey puts her skateboard on the ground at starts to rolls away. Flash yells something at her, and Bailey flips him off as she rolls past not even looking at him. He was going to be fun to screw with.
Entering the tower common room Bailey goes straight for the kitchen, hungry. "Hey dad." She open the fridge and looks for something. "How was school?" Bailey decides on the leftover chicken Alfredo. "It was good. Made a couple of friends. Kicked the local bully's reputation in the trash." Tony chuckles at his daughter. "Of course you did." Bailey puts her now warmed pasta on the counter across from her father and begins to eat it. "So what's the mission about?" Tony takes a noodle from Bailey's bowl and she gives him a look of betrayal. She pokes him with her fork. "HYDRA. The fucking thing won't die out." Steve walks into the room. "Language." Bailey chokes on her pasta and starts laughing to the point where she is almost crying. Steve rolls his eyes. "First him. Now you?" Bailey continues to laugh. "You- you said language!!" She can hardly breath. Tony laughs at her. "Geez, breathe Bails." Her laughter starts to die down to a chuckle every now and again. She finishes the pasta and puts the bowl in the sink. "So, you got room for donuts?" Bailey looks at Tony with a smirk. "I always have room for donuts." Tony stands and grabs his keys. "You in Capsicle?" Steve shrugs. "Why not."
