The last bell finally rings and all leilani can do is think about what her dad needs to talk about
She and Rowan walk outta class and make their way to the bus stop
"Lani are you allgood" he said
(Lani is leilanis nickname btw)
"You seemed a lil quite during last periods" he said curiously
"Yeah I'm fine I just have a bad feeling about after school, I dont know what my dad wants to talk about hes never done this before, I guess I'm just worried" leilani replied
"Shorty you'll be fine, no need to stress plus you can always call me if you need too" rowan said
"Shorty huh" leilani said while letting out a chuckle
"Chilll uno I be playin" he said blushing
*leilanis pov*
Shorty!?? Sometimes I wonder if rowan might have feelings for me cos sometimes he do be doin too much 🤣 even weirder I think I'd be ok if things were like that between us

*leilani shook herself out of her thoughts*
"Chill leilani" she said to herself
"Huh?" Rowan said
"Hm?" Leilani said confused
"You just told yourself to chill" he said laughing
"O-oh no I was jus- nothing" leilani stuttering whilst she couldn't believe she said that out loud
"Oh look the bus is here" leilani said jumping out her seat
*Rowan's pov*
I've only recently starting having feelings for leilani, shes just so goofy, funny n smart and I feel like I've been showing her a little more affection lately but I dont think she noticed until I called her shorty, kinda wanna tell her but it seems like the times never right.
*end of pov*
They got on the bus and both listened to music the whole way, eventually it came to leilanis stop
"Bye loser" she said smiling back at rowan
"Bye loner" he replied sarcastically waving back
*Leilani got off the bus and started walking home*
*leilanis pov*
Lowkey a little scared to talk to my dad, my heart is pounding
I arrive home and shout out to my dad
"Dad I'm home!!!"
He was sitting in the lounge and stood up immediately walking over to me
He walked me over to the dining table and sat me down
"Woah dad chill, what's wrong" I said worried for him
"I need to discuss something with you and it's very important so you need to listen" he said calmly
"Okay" I said
"I've been struggling with work...alot and I cant afford to support you and look after you, I wish I could do better and I'm sorry I'm letting you down but it's not fair I keep this from you any longer." He said looking me in the eyes
*my eyes start to tear up*
"What? Dad how could you not tell me this, I could've gotten a job to help you or done something to help" I said back with watery eyes
"You shouldnt need to do that, I'm the parent and it's my problem to deal with" he says firmly
"Wait...what are you really trying to say" I say whilst a tear rolls down my face
"I'm saying that you cant stay with me anymore" he says looking down
" what!? Dad I dont understand" I say
"your going to live with julie and her fam- " he says but gets cut off
"WHAT!! IS THAT WHY SHE CALLED ME TELLING ME TO TALK TO YOU, how long have you been planning this!!!" I say furiously
"Lani please calm down I only want to do what's best for you" he says starting to tear up
"What's best for me is being with my dad!" I say upset
"I've already lost mom, and now you!" I say furiously
I walk up to my room and just cry
"I cant believe this broooo" I say to myself
Dad knocks on the door, walks in and sits at the end of my bed
"I know your upset but this is something that needs to be discussed because this is happening" he says
I sat up from my bed staring at him
"You will be flying out to New Jersey Friday afternoon, julie will pick you up from the airport and things will go on from there" he says quietly to me
"I cant believe you didn't tell me any of this, this is crazy" I said shocked
"Do bianca and chrissy know?" I ask him
"I'm not sure lani but you should call julie when you get the chance" he says
"You can take the week off to pack all your things and everything" he says standing up
"I'm sorry lani, please forgive me" he says leaving my room.
