~*trigger warning*~

Sometimes it's unstoppable; like a tidal wave, and all you can do is look up and watch it curl up above your head until it comes crashing down. And then you're stuck. You are being dragged underwater and you've lost your last breath of air.  You start to feel paralyzed, because there is absolutely nothing you can do to find a way out, because now you are stuck in your own head, trapped in the moment. Everything just keeps replaying over and over again. You are now in a place where screams become whispers, muffled by your very own hands. You are sinking, and every inch you fall is a blade against skin, an attempt at cutting yourself free from the dungeon you've built. You start to forget all the pain that just drowned along with the last pieces of you, and you can finally breathe normally again. But soon every breath of air becomes poison, seeping into your lungs like countless drags of weed. And then it repeats. It's this endless cycle of taking one step forward and three steps back. And all you can do is follow your footprints back into the ocean and wait silently as your tears continue to fill up the water below.
