Rory gaped down at Logan who knelt on the probably dirty floor (Lorelai didn't clean very often), a big, beautiful diamond ring gleaming at her, unable to process what was happening. Just hours ago, Logan had been in London and she was shocked at him even being here, let alone kneeling on the porch in front of her, a diamond ring in his hand.
Rory finally got her ability of speech back and said, "Woah. Woah. Woah. Logan slow down. You're not serious. Wait. Are you serious? Logan... oh my god... I-I..." she sputtered, trying to form a coherent thought. "You can't be serious," she finally managed.
Logan's face fell. "Don't say no," he said, desperately, and Rory knew he was reliving another proposal from many years ago.
"I'm not saying no, Logan," she said and the hope returned to his eyes. "But. I'm not saying yes. You just showed up on my doorstep out of nowhere when you're supposed to be in London and informed me that you quit your job and left your fiancé. Don't get me wrong, I'm so, so happy that you're here, I just need a little time to take this all in," Rory motioned around her and Logan, setting her hand on her stomach, "I'm shocked is all."
"Understandable. This is all insane. But know that the offer is still on the table and always will be."
Rory nodded, still shocked, but took Logan's hand to help him to his feet with a familiarity that felt like a breath of fresh air. Everything that had been happening was so unfamiliar and Rory had barely been keeping her head above water, but Logan felt right. Logan had always been there for Rory, waiting as long as he needed to be with her. He was still there, even after she had broken his heart with his first proposal. The truth was that Logan had always felt right, but Rory wasn't ready to get married at the time. She needed to live on her own, having her own adventures. And now, here she was, many years later, in the same small, comfortable, town, pregnant with the man she loved's baby. Although Rory was shocked and needed to adjust, she was not going to let Logan slip through her fingers again. Life was coming full circle, and something told Rory this was exactly how it was supposed to be.
"I'll tell you what," she said, regaining her composure, "let's you and I go to New York for the day. We can look at apartments and job search. It's not practical for you to live in Stars Hollow, you won't be able to find decent work anywhere that doesn't involve some sort of Hello Kitty memorabilia. New York is close so we'll be able to see each other all the time, but you'll be living in a nice place and working at a job you enjoy."
"Okay. That seems like a good enough compromise for now. Although, I do hope that someday you'll be living with me again. I've really missed you, Ace." Logan pressed Rory's hand to his lips and smiled at her, following her into the house so she could get ready for the day in New York.

"Hi Mom. Logan's back. We're going to New York for the day. I'll explain later," Lorelai said, reading the text which Rory had sent her. She was sitting in the diner, ranting to Luke, "I can't believe he's back! Ughhh," Lorelai moaned loudly, flopping her head down, into her arm. Customers in the diner glanced at Lorelai, both confused and uncomfortable. They looked at Luke, who smiled awkwardly."Come on," Luke whispered into Lorelai's ear, dragging her up and out the door, "Let's go for a walk."
"Who does he think he is?! Just prancing back here completely out of nowhere saying 'Oh Rory I love you... Blah blah blah'," Lorelai ranted loudly once they were outside, "And whisking her away to New York."
"Well, it wasn't necessarily out of nowhere. He's going to be the father of Rory's baby isn't he?" Luke replied.
"Why are you defending him?! He knocked up my daughter!" Lorelai exclaimed, cutting Luke off.
