I was an orphan. I don't know much about my real parents but I know some stories about my biological mother. She was young, only 16 when she had me. They said that my father left her upon knowing that she was pregnant. It broke her and put the blame on me for ruining her "life".

She left me on a church where my father saw me. He's the one who adopted me. He said that there's only a few pregnant woman in town that time and my mother was one of them. That's when they knew that it was her. She left the town right after with her parents to start a new life and to forget their embarrassment.

Rumors said that it couldn't be her because she was pregnant to twins, but I was alone when they found me. They also said that it was her, and it was true that I had a twin, but it was dead unlike me. Then, one of the midwife who claimed she assists my mother said that it was true. I'm supposed to have a twin sister. That's what they believed it too but upon giving birth to me, they were surprised that my mother was not.

I've never fully believed those stories. It doesn't matter now does it? I'm happy with my family. They love me and treat me as theirs. I have a great childhood, well except those moments where I get bullied at school but it only happened twice. I had such good friends who always protect and fought for me.

I changed schools when i was in high school. I had this weird classmate who believed she had supernatural power. I've never liked her, probably even when she does not believe those things. I don't like her attitude, she always think of me as someone less from others.

One time after class, she reached out to me and said things like "Your twin sister's better." I don't know what to react to that. I had no siblings, what more a twin. I look at her dumbfounded.

"She's funny and more interesting," she added and left. I don't know what she's up to for saying things like that. I just shrugged it off. She's a weirdo I thought. Why would i believe to her?

After the year ends, my parents decided to spend our summer with my Aunt. It was located in a province I've never heard before. It's a smaller town compare to what we lived. They welcomed me like I was one of them. I have such pretty and handsome cousins. Finally, I've met my grandmother; the one who bore my father, my dad has a beautiful soul like her. She's lovely I told her and you know what she said back?

"Mary, you and your sister are lovelier."

I have no twin.
