"Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked Jenny, hoping she would say no. Jenny was one to never back down from an adventure, it's something I admired about her but it sure sucked sometimes. Somehow she convinced me to go to this new club in downtown London called "The Infinity" and I did not have a choice about whether I wanted to go or not.
Jenny wasn't taking no for an answer, so I took the defeat and slipped on a black dress that she let me borrow. If I am being honest, it was a little too short for my liking. Jenny insisted that she do my makeup, to which I let her knowing I can barely put on lipstick. "Damn, didn't think you could get any hotter, Maggie!" Jenny belted, I turned and faced the mirror and I do have to admit she had a magic touch with a makeup brush.
"I love it" I said with the biggest grin spread crossed my face.
The club wasn't too far from my apartment, so Jenny and I decided to walk. I instantly regretted on my choice of attire as soon as we stepped outside, "it's too damn cold" I mumbled to myself. Even though I live on my own & pay for my own shit, I still can't help but look behind me and see Jack a few paces behind us. He's my hired body guard, provided by my lovely father.
My dad is a prominent leader in what you would call the gang world, so it makes sense to protect his daughter from rivel members. I am not exactly sure what he does, but I know it's scary and when I am "old enough" I will know everything one day. For being 22 years old, I guess I am not old enough yet for my father. Jack is 24, I think... We talk sometimes and from what little information he has given me I have concluded he's in my fathers gang aka The Saints. Jenny is a smart girl, so when she noticed a random man constantly following us I swear she was about to kill Jack. I had to practically rip her off of his throat when she confronted him, with her screaming "You creep! who do you think you are following us around!?" Luckily I managed to calm her down and explain the situation. Not sure how much I convinced her, but she's a little less angry towards him now at least.
Jenny's father is also apart of The Saints, not as high up so that's why she doesn't have a 24/7 babysitter. We met through our dads at a "work function" aka they didn't have babysitters so we got stuck together in a room while they took care of business. The Saints owned a club which was unironically named Hells Club. The club was used during the nights hours as a hangout spot for fellow members and clubgoers and in the daytime, whatever business that needed to be dealt with. I am no idiot, so I can imagine what kind of business could possible go down with a gang-owned club.
Jenny conveniently let me know she is meeting up with someone tonight, no wonder she was so eager to come tonight specifically. Apparently the dudes name is Zayn, from what she's describe he seems like a nice dude, which she deserves. All she dates is gang members from our families gang and they're all horrible boyfriends in the end.
We finally reached the entrance and it was a long ass line, minimum 250 people. I guess it was stupid idea going to a club on it's opening night and with it being literally 20 degrees. After what felt like an eternity, we reached the front bouncer and he happily let us in but didn't forget to let out a crude gesture about Jenny and I's dresses. Ugh men! so vile these days, like please pick on someone your own size for once.
I just needed to relax this evening and not let creepy men ruin my night. I work at a local thrift store and it's been such a week. I had at least two bags of clothes come included with a nice infestation of bed bugs, two very sweet ladies cuss me out for a couch being $5 and just so much more. I really just want to let loose, maybe find a cute guy for 2 hours then go home and crash into my comfy bed with some flannel pjs.
When we arrived I ordered both Jenny and I shots of Cranberry Vodkas. As I was lifting my head back up from practically downing my drink, I felt my whole world stop in motion. There he was. My heart ached, yearned for this mystery man and I was determined to get him.
Jenny must have noticed my sudden likeness, "Go get him Maggie! what's there to lose?" she told me as I watched this beautiful man walk away from me. You know, maybe Jenny is right what is there to lose? I am Maggie Saints, my dad is literally a gang leader, I should be able to do this. Being overcome by this new sense of confidence, I asked the bartender for a shot, because I would definitely need it soon.
