Dominique Nott is a pure-blood witch, born 1st February 1960, the first child and only daughter of Isadora Nott ( née Rowle ). Dominique is also the older half-sister of Julius Nott and eventually the older half-sister of Theodore Nott, who would be born almost twenty years after her birth. Dominique is the only child to come from Adolphe Nott first marriage, Dominique's mother dying during childbirth.

The "Sacred Twenty-Eight" were, according to the author of the Pure-Blood Directory ( believed to have been written by an ancestor of Dominique's, Cantankerus Nott ) are the twenty-eight families that were still "truly " pure-blood by the 1930s. For example, the House of Black, the Malfoy family, the Weasley family, the Crouch family and the Nott family.

Dominique started attending Hogwarts in 1971.
