DOMINIQUE NEVER FELT NERVOUS. Never. She refused to let something get to her so much that it impacted her in such a way as to feel nervous - to the point where the subject that was plaguing her mind every second. But she couldn't deny that she was nervous as she sat in the library with Kathryn, waiting for Sirius to show up. Even Kathryn was beginning to notice, seeing how Dominique flicked through her textbook so feverishly. It was clear she wasn't reading a word of it."Dom, stop," Kathryn said, placing her hand over her best friend's hand and removing the book from her grip. "That's doing my head in, and you're not reading it anyway. What's up? Did something happen?"
Dominique had naturally told Kathryn about everything that was going on - She couldn't not tell her best friend, and she needed to tell someone. But even Dominique didn't know what exactly was going on between herself, Remus and Sirius.
"No, not since last night. But Sirius wants to talk with me," Dominique said, keeping her voice quiet. She put her hands together on the table, no longer having the book to keep her hands occupied.
"And what about Remus? What's he said about all this?" Kathryn asked. "I assume things have been different. The three of you were all over each other last night, from what you told me."
"Yes, I know. But it's... complicated," Dominique answered, pinching the bridge of her nose. "It was difficult enough with just Sirius, but now Remus? Merlin, Kathy. What am I doing? It's all a mess."
"It is," Kathryn agreed. Dominique turned to her with an annoyed expression. "Sorry, I'm supposed to be helping, aren't I? Well, if I were in your situation, I would simply... Let go."
"Let go?" Dominique repeated, frowning.
"Yes. Just let go. Coming from me, I feel like you need to let people see the real you. Stop caring about what your parents think, because quite frankly, they are arseholes." Dominique would have argued, but what Kathryn was saying was true. She cared too much about what her parents thought. "And there's nothing wrong with you liking both Remus and Sirius. Remus is a sweet lad who'd never do anyone harm. And in some ways, Sirius reminds me of yourself."
"I never said I liked them," Dominique corrected, and Kathryn only rolled her eyes, not believing a word. "And how are Sirius and I similar in any way?"
"Well, your parents are similar. Similar expectations, to be a golden little pure-blood and make sure the family stays that way for as long as possible. Get good grades, and just be perfect," Kathryn elaborated. "The only difference is that Sirius just let go. I'm not telling you to change who you are, because I love who you are. But not a lot of people see what I see. I don't even think you do."
