Sketching was always a release for me. A way to express my creative thoughts in private. Even if I wasn't very good, I still enjoyed it immensely. It started as a therapeutic approach for me when I first came to live with Uncle Elton and Uncle David. I was quiet, reserved and incredibly shy. Of course, it didn't take long for me to open up with them. I knew them even before they adopted me. And I would sketch portraits of them together with their loving gazes they always have for one another, a love I so desperately hoped I would find someday. And now, here I am, 23 and living the dream. I'm more open, Ive made some of the best friends I could ever have, I'm lucky enough to be working on this incredible film, I have the best family in the world, and working for the best person known to man. Taron Egerton. He's helped mold me into the person I've always wanted to be, just within a couple of months. He's so incredibly fun to work with, hang out with and get to know. He's so sweet and kind, always there with a shoulder to lean on, very supportive, encouraging and just all around brilliant. He's the sweetest. And I'll never stop singing his praises. He has no idea what kind of impact he has on me.

"I can't believe I'm seeing my Katie darling actually sitting down and relaxing. You've been all over the place for the film, that I thought you'd never come home." I grinned from Uncle Elton's voice ringing in my ears as he kissed the top of my head, something him and Uncle David both have done since I was a little girl. Just the mere gesture could make your days so much better.

"My loft gets lonely. Besides, I miss seeing you lot every day. The boys are a ray of sunshine. And you and Uncle David are the light of my life. Remember?" He sat down next to me with a little smile on his cheerful face, thinking back to the first time I ever said that to them. Things had finally changed for me. My troublesome thoughts had finally vanished, I was feeling happier and I had been living with them for almost a year, the adoption was almost finalized and they had told me this. I remember being so over the moon about it. If it wasn't for them, I don't know what would have happened to me to be honest. Uncle Elton knew my mother personally from his frantic touring days back when. She was a fan. And she had her head on straight for quite some time. But, as the industry tends to do, it sweeps you up into a world that some people can't say no to. She was horrible on drugs and drinking, constantly out of her mind. They went to rehab together and she got better, along with Uncle Elton. But unlike him, she spiraled yet again. And then? She found she was pregnant with me later on and was terrified. She thought she'd be a terrible mother. She stopped cold turkey while she was pregnant with me. But once I was out, it started back up. I would be dropped on Uncle Elton and Uncle David more often than not, that eventually, when I was 10, she gave me up to them on the mention that it would be the right thing to do. A good home with two loving parents to care for me. I know I call them Uncle because that's what i always knew. But they are my parents as well in so many ways. They raised me. Made me who I am today. And as for my real dad? I don't know him. My mother barely remembered him. And I guess that's for the best. Because I'm honestly happy things turned out this way. I got adopted by the best couple in the world. Then had two incredible little boys fill my heart with even more love. I'm more than thankful.

 I'm more than thankful
