The dark heavy clouds lingering above Shizume city had been pouring for sometime  now and it didn't show any signs of stopping. Rather it only got worse. It couldn't be called a storm but it was far from being labelled as drizzling.

At such a moment, you were inside the Homra bar, protected from the rain but not from boredom. You sighed, feeling a little melancholy. The bar was silent besides the sound of rain hitting the glass windows. The only two people present in the room were you and Izumo.
The man was busy tending his bar while you were laying on one of the couches.

"(Y/n)-chan not feeling well?" Izumo asked and you shook your head in response. You sat up and looked towards the blonde haired man.

"I'm bored as hell, Kusanagi-san!" You groaned and Izumo laughed at your childishness. You got up and walked over to the bar stools and sat down on one of them before laying your head on the smooth surface of the wood before you.

You laid there for a while before lifting your head and looking at Izumo, a sudden thought in your head.

"Hey Kusanagi-san, how did you and Mikoto-kun meet?"

Your sudden question surprised Izumo but after a second he smiled.

"We were school friends, me and Mikoto go way back. For a while it was only the two of us until Totsuka joined. He was pretty weird back then not that he is any less weird now." You giggled at his remark.

"What about Mikoto?" You asked.

"To put it in simple words, he was an idiot"

The fact Izumo revealed was a bit surprising to you. Mikoto, the violent hot headed man feared by the whole town, being described as an idiot? That's kinda surprising. But you trusted Izumo's words, after all he was Mikoto's friend since high school and knows him more than you did.

"How though?" You asked again, interested to know more about your lover's past.

"Well there was one time Totsuka challenged us to a chicken race, while I stopped early and Totsuka crashed, Mikoto kept going and went straight into the lake before us."

"( ̄ω ̄;) is that so?"

"Totsuka wasn't any better, he once caused trouble for a teacher by helping us spy on her while she was changing. We only got caught because when she turned around, Mikoto didn't hide rather he blatantly greeted her saying hey"

"(-‸ლ) wow" you mentally face palmed. But then again you found it funny at the same time. It was like a new light had shone upon Mikoto. Everyone knew him as this violent person but he had another side to him. Thinking about all of these, you started to laugh.

"Seems like you guys had a pretty fun time back then" you said, a smile on your face.

"Yeah it was nice."

"By the way, where is Mikoto? I haven't seen him all day" you asked.

"Probably sleeping his ass off, you can go check on him if you want" said Izumo. You nodded in response and got up from the bar stool and started walking up the stairs.

While on the staircase, you could hear the rain calming down, just a few lightenings here and there followed by soft thunders.

You made your way to the top and walked over to Mikoto's room and knocked on the door. To your surprise, you heard a reply. You thought he was asleep for sure but guess he wasn't.

You opened the door slowly and peeked inside to see your lover sitting on the edge of his bed, a lit cigarette in his mouth. You slowly walked in and Mikoto looked away from the window towards you.

"Hey" Mikoto greeted you, his voice ever so monotonous but his eyes lit up seeing you. You gave him a soft smile and sat next to him.

"Hey, you're up 'early'" you giggled as you said that and Mikoto chuckled. You leaned your head on Mikoto's shoulder and closed your eyes, humming softly to yourself. It was quiet amongst you two but it wasn't awkward, it was peaceful. The only sound in the room was the pitter patter of the rain and wind.

After a while when the rain stopped, you got up and walked to window to open it. A soft gush of wind flowed over you that brought a smile on your face.

You put your hands on the window sill and closed your eyes, feeling the soft wind on your face.

You opened your eyes in surprise when a pair of arms wrapped around your waist from behind. You turned your head to see Mikoto with a gentle expression on his face. You smiled and turned to look out the window. You felt him rest his chin on your shoulder and place a soft kiss on your neck. It tingled but it felt nice.

You felt so relaxed and happy in that moment you couldn't explain. The soft wind, Mikoto's embrace, his warmth, everything was perfect.

"I love you." Mikoto whispered.

Your cheeks instantly turned red and you felt butterflies in your stomach. A smile tugged at your lips.

"I love you too, Mikoto"
