"Okay, so I have 'The Notebook', 'Safe Haven' and 'Notting Hill'. Which one do you want to watch first?" For four and a half weeks this had been a recurring routine. Hope had been allowed home after two weeks of staying in the hospital for checkups and so far things had been alright since her collapse.

"The Notebook, obviously." She laughs as I settle myself next to her on the bed after putting her favourite movie in the DVD player. "I cant believe you're watching this with me."

Neither could I, but she was my best friend and I loved her, so I replied, "I wouldn't want to be doing anything else." My heart turns to mush when she gives me her heart-stopping smile and places a quick kiss on my cheek.

When the movie finishes, I take it out and put it away. "I can't believe he built an art room for her. How did he know she was going to come back?" I ask.

"He didn't know she would be coming back. He hoped she would be though. There's a difference. And look, it worked out, she came back." She replies stuffing her face with popcorn still.

"That's kind of sad. Waiting for her all that time." I shake my head in astonishment.

"Are you saying you wouldn't wait for me if that was us? I know we're not together, but would you wait for me? As a friend?" Her eyes begin to blur with unshed tears.

"Hope, I wouldn't just wait for you. I'd chase you."
