Chapter 6: Uncertain Recovery

Ciara's mum agreed to take Me, Jordan, Aston, Abi and Ciara to the hospital to wait on news of Harley. I grabbed my soggy tissue that Ciara had fetched me earlier and wiped my eyes religiously with it in a desperate attempt to wipe away the guilt and sorrow that had become of me. Jordan reached over and put his arm around my back..

"I'm sorry..for being a twat to you when you were with Harley" Jordan apologized.

"S'alright.. Sorry I had a go before.." I apologized back.

"S'alright.." He replied with a half smile.

--AT THE HOSPITAL--

I ran to the front desk and asked the receptionist if she could direct us to where Harley was.

"Down the corridor, first door on the left.." The woman replied.

Me, Jordan, Ciara, Abi and Aston jogged in the direction of which we had been informed. When we reached the room I peered through the window to see a bunch of Doctors/nurses rushing around then in the middle I spotted Harley laying on the bed. He looked so calm. So restful. His eyes were closed and he was as pale as the sheet he was laying on, but for some reason he looked like he was just sleeping.

I felt my eyes burn as more tears flooded out of my already blood-shot eyes, it was becoming painful to blink.

--3 HOURS LATER-- 

Aston and Abi had to leave to study for their art exam but Me, Jordan and Ciara was finally allowed to visit Harley. 

I walked into the room and sat on the bedside chair. I grabbed Harley's hand and stroked his fingers lightly..why does all the crap happen to me? Even though I have only known him for a short space of time it felt like I've known him all my life! 

I heard sniffling behind me so I turned around to see Jordan crying and Ciara trying to comfort him.

"What if he don't make it? He's my best mate I don't want nothing bad to happen to him! I should have got in the way of him and the arsehole who stabbed him!" Jordan panicked whilst sobbing.

"Jordan, come here!" I said sympathetically.

Jordan plodded over and stood next to me. 

"Look at him, he looks like he's sleeping! Don't worry about him, he'll be OK!" I attempted to reassure Jordan..

"Sorry, your going to have to leave now it's past visiting hours!" a nurse announced as she popped her head round the door..

Jordan and Ciara made their way out the room but before went I whispered in Harley's ear..

"Don't worry babe, I'll be back tommorow to see you.." 

Then me, Jordan and Ciara made our way home...
