Chapter 16: Welcome home

"Right I'm off now babe" Jordan said as he gave me a kiss on the lips and gave Olly one on his forehead.

"See you later baby.." I grinned as I watched him leave down the road and then round the corner.

"Ooh it seems like it's just us for now then Olls" I talked to my little boy as I walked him inside and sat on the sofa to give him a cuddle.

"I've gotta go to work now sweetie, did you want me to pick anything up for you on the way home?" Suzie (Ciara's mum) asked as she was about to walk out the door.

"Ermm..I think I'll be alright thank you Suzie" I smiled as she smiled back then walked out the door.

Ciara's Dad Pete didn't live with Suzie and Ciara as her mum and Dad got divorced a few years ago, so Suzie had kindly agreed to let Jordan stay for a few weeks to help look after the baby while they were gone.

I had finished school for the holidays so I would be able to look after Olly without dumping him with Suzie or Pete. 

"WAHHH!" Olly started to cry. 

"Aww come on my little man.." I embraced Olly in a cuddle.

Olly always cries when Jordan leaves, there bond was incredible and I always considered Jordan as his Daddy. Although, Harley was always welcome round to see Olly but the last time he saw him was a week after he was born. 

I pulled out a bottle of SMA milk from the fridge and popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds. I then waited for a few minutes for it to cool then I fed Olly his milk and cuddled him again,bu this time he pushed his hand in my face..

"Ooh you cheeky little monkey!" I giggled as I placed him in his baby seat.

*BEEP BEEP* 

I heard my phone beep indicating me that I had an incoming text. 

--NEW MESSAGE: HARLEY--

I opened the text and it read..

'Hiya Nikki, is it alright if I came round to see Olly? xxx'

I clicked on the reply button..

'Yeah of course Harls :) xxx' 

I placed the phone back in my pocket and started to jangle my keys in front of him and then handed them to him to play with.

-- 30 MINUTES LATER --

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

I rushed over to the door to greet Harley.

"Hiya hun" Harley greeted me as he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Hiya...he's in his baby seat" I let Harley in.

I walked through to the living room to see Harley picking up Olly and giving him a cuddle.

"Hello there little man..Ahh I've missed you!" He squeezed Harley a little and then I spotted a tear running down his face as well as a massive smile on his face.

"Are you alright?" I went over to Harley and placed my hand on his back.

"I've made he biggest mistake of my life..and it's to late to take it back!" Harley cried a little but tried to cover it up..

"Let me make you brew and we'll have a little chat, OK?" I soothed him as he nodded and went to put Olly in his crib.

I walked through to the kitchen, shut the door and flicked the kettle on. The tears started coming out of my eyes at a face rate and I started shaking. Before I could cry out I quickly put my hand over my mouth and sobbed quietly..all the sniffs were downed out by the sound of the kettle.

Why had I suddenly become so emotional? I loved Jordan and he was a great Dad..he abandoned his education to take care of him and had took on a lot of work to help pay for his things..but for some strange reason I felt as if I had blocked Olly from his real Dad! I had been so selfish these past few weeks that I haven't even took the time to think about the person who maters the most..Little Olly. Was he suffering because of me? Would he grow up to hate Harley for not being there for him? I really hoped he would have a great bond with both Harley and Jordan because I don't think I would forgive myself if he grew to hate Harley..
