You wake up drenched in sweat. The nightmares are back. Your eyes drift to the digital clock on your bedside table. 2:48.
Water. You need water. You make your way downstairs to the kitchen to get a glass of cold water, using your phone as a flashlight.
"What are you doing up so late, muffin?" You hear a deep voice from behind you. Taehyung. As you spin around, his eyes meet yours and you suddenly feel cold.
"Nightmares," you shrug. He gives you a sympathetic look before opening the fridge. "Why are you down here?"
"You woke me up with that bright light," he points to your phone. You roll your eyes and start looking for a glass.
"Sorry," you mumble.
"What were your dreams about?" Taehyung asks after some time.
"You, duh," you reply jokingly. He scoffs and you let out a small laugh. "I'm just kidding. It was about losing someone that I love. I know it sounds stupid, but he means so much to me. And I watched him die in my dreams. I always do. I thought the dreams had stopped, but they're getting worse."
"Do you know why?" Taehyung murmurs, waiting a while before he asked his question.
"His birthday is coming up soon. I haven't seen him in years and every day that his birthday comes closer to, the nightmares always get worse." You sigh, not wanting to talk about your first love.
You've always loved him. You always will. It was your father's fault that you had to end what you had with him. He's the reason you aren't standing with your love right now.
"What's this man's name?" Taehyung tilts his head.
"Jeon Jungkook."
