Freya's pov

Edith completely shocked me beyond words with her declaration. I was so shocked infact, I was speechless as I watched her flit about my room, putting things in their proper place as she found gowns and accessories for the opera.
"We must hurry and get you ready! First you need a bath dear cousin. Your hair is lank and lifeless, and you honestly need a good scrubbing!" Edith declared as she opened the curtains over the windows to let some natural light in. "I'll go fill the tub. You go to my room and get the bath oils father got me the last time he was in Paris, the one that smells like heaven, you know the one. Hurry!" when Edith set her mind to something, the only thing to do was do as told.
After retrieving the bath oils and trying to stay out of her way, Edith dragged me into the bathroom and made me strip down and enter the tub full of hot sweet smelling water. The water was almost too hot, but that didn't stop her from pushing down on the top of my head, forcing me do duck beneath the surface of the tub to wet my hair. Coming back up, I sputtered and wiped water from my eyes. " Is this really necessary? I feel like a drowned rat now." I complained as Edith poured something into her palms and started scrubbing it into my hair.
"Yes, now hush." After that I just let Edith have her way, even after feeling like she had scrubbed me within an inch of my life.

Once I was clean to her standards she allowed me to exit the bath to dry and sit in front of the roaring fire. "Do you really think this is a good idea? What if he is disappointed that it's not you?" I finally voiced my fear aloud.
"Nonsense! I'll be honest, he hasn't been truly happy in my company. I think his sister was more interested in our relationship than him. He will be ever so delighted when he sees you, I promise!" Edith insisted as she set to work drying and styling my hair.
After hours of letting Edith work her magic, it was finally time. Standing back to admire her work, Edith declared with a smile that took up her whole face, " You dear cousin, will be the most beautiful woman there tonight. He won't be able to take his eyes off you. If he doesn't declare his love for you tonight, he truly and utterly impossible and not worth either of us!"

AN.
I'm sorry I haven't been updating, I've kinda lost my mojo. I have a whole idea on where I want to take this and how I want to get there, but putting it into words as of late has been almost impossible.
