Driven by her curiosity, she went to the place where she first seeing the ads. Wearing the most comfortable dress she could find on her closet. Amidst the ocean of pedestrian, she stopped a few meters right in front of the banner and looked up. The video was still there, showing him dancing with his entourage. Did he have fans here? He looked cute when she saw him in the TV station. So maybe there were many teenagers who loved him, just like other singers, she thought. She took a better look at his still photo on the ads while wondering who he really was, and her heart beat faster once she realized that they stared back at her. That deep gaze of the almond shaped Asian eyes bothered her to the core. Again.
she found another ads
"Have we met somewhere in our past lives?" she murmured. She wasn't a religious person to begin with and that thought alone made her questioned herself. Why the hell did she think about past lives?
"Are you a Dear, too?"
Lena turned her head to see who's talking to her. An old lady smiled widely at her. She was at least on the same age as her parents. The flowery motif on her dress made her look lovely though It was kind of weird seeing a stranger being so friendly in Russia. She smiled back at her in return anyway.
"I don't know what you mean."
"Are you his fans?"
She shook her head. "I don't even know him." She added.
"But you are looking at him longingly as if he was your long-lost soulmate."
"Am I?"
The idea of long-lost soulmate was too exaggerating. No. She didn't look at him that way. She was just curious. The lady held her hand and she instinctively drew it off. She didn't like stranger touching her. The lady said sorry for being so rude as to touch her. She was just excited thinking about finding other Dear.
"What do you mean by Dear?"
"His fans. We call each other Dear."
Ewh... she was his fan? Look at that guy, he must be as young as her son and she said she was his fan? Lena couldn't help herself but thought it was weird. Even she herself never be a fan of any pop star. But this lady happily told her that she was his avid fan and planned to go to his concert later.
"Do you go to the concert?" She was aware that it was a rude question. Her thought full of judgement to the older woman in front of her.
The woman, later introduced herself as Irina told him about Dimash. A Kazakh singer with 6 octaves range and divine voice. He could sing in any genre and language soulfully. Technical skill aside, he was also a humble human being she had ever known, kind, helpful, friendly, funny, and quirky. She implied that the promotional video and poster didn't do justice for his actual quality.
For over an hour and Lena didn't realized that she talked that long to a stranger about someone equally strange to her as well. She showed her the videos she marked as favorite in Youtube and explained what they were about. She knew the Russian and English songs but not the others who were sung in Kazakh, French, Italian, et cetera. She did learn French at school but she was not that fluent. Irina patiently explained every detail.
