She recalled her meeting with Irina, that lady gave her social media username in case she wanted to know more about Dimash Kudaibergen. Lena never knew that such trivial information would come in handy. She wasn't the type of people who use social media regularly since she didn't socialize much. Her life outside work was pretty much tame and boring, nothing to show off. But for this case she finally login to her long abandoned social media account.
The friend request was quickly accepted. She told Irina that she was the girl she met and talked about that Dimash guy. She wanted to know more about him. Of course, Irina loved to hear that.
"I know that you are going to be a Dear soon." She replied.
"No. I am not a Dear, Irina. I just want to know about something that you may know."
"Tell me."
"Did something happen to Dimash about four years ago? Like... you know... he lost someone so dear to him or something similar."
"Oh, that was one darkest moment in his life. Every Dear know it."
She told Lena that four years ago, he experienced a severe motor accident. He wasn't famous back then so that story didn't go circulating in the media. But soon after he rose to his stardom, people dig every inch of the buried aspect of his life, including the devastating accident. That girl, named Leyla was his former classmate. They had been in love since their school years and decided to engage when they were entering second years in university. But after the accident she left him. Nobody knew what happened afterward, even Dimash didn't meet her parents, they had moved to other country and left nothing for him to remember. Even among fans they restrained and warned each other to not talk about her. They knew that Dimash still held her dearly in his heart. He may look playful with any girl he knew or work with but he hadn't forgotten her yet.
On their engagement day
It was one painful story and it took much gut for her to read with her weak heart. She sobbed in front of her computer. Igor came later and found her again unconscious. He called ambulance and went to hospital with her.
"What happened? Doctor told me that you were getting better this year but you show more symptoms lately." He asked after she had discharged and getting better. They were at home. This time Igor made the breakfast for them. They sat across each other as usual. She didn't know what to say. It was so confusing. She might know the answer and that's what made her scared to ask. She didn't want to see her hunch came out as truth.
"Did something happen on your workplace?"
"No." She said. Then, after a long pause. "Igor. Do you know where mama got this pendant from?"
"No." he replied without making eye contact with her. He knew Lena would find this out sooner or later. And today was the day. He felt nervous anyway and tried to avoid eye contact with her even more. He pretended to look for the cheese and buying time as long as possible, it was on the table and Lena casually handed it to him. Lena nodded as if she was satisfied with his short answer. She put her spoon down on the table and wiped the corner of her lips with napkin. She said she had been full and thanked him for the breakfast. She put aside the bowl of mixed fruits which only she ate half.
