Chapter 6

Third POV

'Shit, what do I do now?!' Melody asked herself in a panic. She had been caught following Ethan and his sister by Ethan and his sister. The siblings looked at each other. "Um, you know her Ethan?" Vanessa asked. "Um...." Ethan didn't know what to say. "Yea. Yea, he does. We've walked to his house together a few times." Melody said. "Really? Wow, uh didn't know Ethan hung out with anyone other than me and Benny. I'm Vanessa. Ethan's younger twin." She held out her hand. "Nice to meet you." Melody shook her hand. Both were shaking though for completely different reasons.

"So, um why were you following us?" Ethan asked. "Oh, uhh I was Uh, planning on surprising you! Yup. I wanted to surprise you so yea. So..., sorugh." She still struggles with that word. "Sorry?" Ethan asked and she nodded. "Yea. That." She said. "Oh, well um. Wanna join us? We're just going to the hospital." Vanessa offered. Melody froze and suppressed the urge to growl. Travel? With a human? Two humans to be exact! Well, one of them is Ethan. Not now. He's nice. So what? He's cute. He's not. Not really. Possibly not. Alright fine, he's decent. You like him.

I hate him. No you don't. I hope he dies. That's a lie. I'll kill him myself. You wouldn't. What's stopping me? You. What? You're stopping yourself. How? Because you like him and you know it. You just won't admit it. I'm going home. No your not. Why's that genius? Because your walking with them. You accepted Vanessa's offer and now your walking with them. What?! When did that happen?! A few seconds ago. Melody then realized that the voice was right. She had been following them. It was quiet. Well, on the outside it was. In Melody's head it was a mess. She was yelling and a whole bunch of other voices were yelling too.

Vanessa was talking to her doctor about her medicine while Ethan sat awkwardly next to Melody. He tried playing a game on his phone, but he was too distracted to actually get anywhere with it. He also kept glancing over at Melody. Said vampire in hiding was staring at her lap intently. She was obviously deep in the depths of her own mind right now and he didn't want to disturb her. With that in mind he was going to text Benny, but was interrupted.

"What are you doing tonight?" Melody asked. "Um, nothing. Why?" He asked back. "We're going to a park tonight." Ethan sputtered a bit. "Wait, Wha? Why? When?" He asked extremely confused. "First, because I want to and second, at eight. I'll be a few blocks to the right of your house. Don't keep me waiting." Melody said with no room for argument in her voice. She then got up and power walked out. Nessa, who was walking back to the pair glanced at leaving girl and looked at her brother. "What happened?" She asked. "I... don't know. I think, I think I'm going on a date." Ethan said with obvious confusion. "A date? Seriously? Good job bro." She said punching his shoulder.

Ethan shrugged on his denim jacket and made sure to check himself in the mirror. He was wearing his best shoes, one of his best pairs of pants, a regular black shirt and a dark blue denim jacket. He had tried to do something different with his hair, but it's natural floppiness wouldn't let him. Jane and Vanessa were downstairs with Sarah right now. His parents were gone on their date night. He took a breath and headed down the stairs. Jane and Sarah were in the living room although Sarah seemed distracted.

"Uh hey, where you going?" The dark skinned girl asked. "Um, got a date. I think." He answered tho he whispered that last part to himself. "Let's stick with the 'think' part for now." She joked. "Yea. So, is there anything you needed?" She asked. "Oh, um. Just wanted to say be careful. A lot of things could happen." That creeped Ethan out, but he just nodded with a nervous chuckle. He then just left the house. He then started walking to the right of his house. After walking for about four or five blocks, he finally saw Melody. She was wearing her normal outfit. A black pair of skinny jeans, tall black leather boots, a black leather jacket and no shirt. Ethan, luckily had gotten used to to Melody's breasts being out.

"Hey Melody." Ethan greeted. "Hey." She responded before grabbing his hand and dragging him away. He struggled to keep up with her fast pace, but said nothing. Melody dragged him all the way to a park with multiple benches. It was more of a teen/adult park. No playground, but it did have did wide open spaces for walking or playing football. She dragged him to a random bench and sat him down. She didn't sit down at first. She just stood over him, staring down him. 'Why is everything creeping me out today?' Ethan asked himself. "Um, are you ok?" He asked.

"Yea. Yea, I'm fine." She said then sat down next to him. "I have a question." She said. "Shoot." Ethan said looking at her. "Let's say you have a very specific way of living and you have been living this way for a long time. Then suddenly someone comes into your life and completely derails it. Like, they throw the entire thing into chaos. Now, you don't know what to do since your mind is a clusterfuck and you want to continue with your old life, but you want this person to stay in your life, but he definitely wouldn't like it. What do you do?" She asked. 'Is that what you guys like? You like these cliches?' Ethan mentally asked glancing at the camera.

"Well, I guess it depends on what your lifestyle was before meeting that person." Melody thought about it. "You enjoyed your life, but it wasn't ideal. You stayed out of the public eye and did... things that could get you sent to jail." Ethan's mind stopped. 'Jail?!' He yelled in his head. He wanted to ask what actions, but decided against it. The only question he had was what should she do?
