Nayeli-

After breakfast, I helped mom clean up. It had been a very awkward silence since my reveal. As she washed the dishes, she handed them to me, one by one, to dry. The silence in the room made each plate I dried have a clinging and clashing sound, as I placed them on top of the stack in the cabinet. Dad had already locked himself in the office for the day. Which likely meant we wouldn't see his face until dinner time. I would be lying, if I said none of this was killing me inside. The burning pit in my stomach just made me keep flashing back to the look Remi had on his face when he looked into my eyes. He's never looked at me like that, not even when we were younger and I shredded his favorite jersey after he ripped the head off my stuffed she-wolf. Long story short, both items were gifts from our grandparents. They gave them to us before they passed and like foolish angry kids, we destroyed them to get back at each other. Even in those moments as children, Remi never looked so disappointed, angry, or disgusted. Another thing I can't shake, is him placing his hand on dad's shoulder and whispering something to him and why wouldn't dad tell me what he said. Does he really think, I'm still to young to handle the truth. So much is going through mind. All the sudden, I finally here my mothers voice, but I was so stuck in my thoughts I didn't realize what I had done. Focusing on her now, I realize she's trying to make sure I'm okay. In the midst of my thoughts, I somehow dropped a plate and it shattered into a million little pieces on the floor and she's grabbing my arm and yanking it towards her. She pulled my arm close enough that I could feel her breathing on it and it dawned on me that she was just making sure that I didn't cut myself when it happened.

"Nayeli, are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes, mom. I think after everything that happened this morning, I just want to go take a nap. Maybe, Remi will be back by then so I can try to clear the air with him."

"Just give him time, your bond is too strong to not overcome this."

"I really hope you're right. It's just that, he's never looked at me like that before."

Remi-

My anger consumed me. If I hadn't left when I did, I would have had a forced shift in the middle of the dining room. That just kept running through my mind, over and over again. Nayeli, had gotten under my skin so many times growing up, but this was different. This wasn't just any anger, I feel betrayed. How could she do this to us, to our family, or to the wolf line in general. This just keep playing over in my head also. It has ever since she started dating this dog, and now that she confessed to the engagement, it burns twice as much. I'm losing control of my actions the further and further that I run towards his patrol quarters. Dad seems to be on board or that's how I took his silence. He better hope that lawyer is as good as he claims him to be because Lakken's blood is about to painted across the forest. It has, officially, become a problem for me to fix, no matter the feelings of others with outcome. Micco, I give full control to you.

Third Person-

Micco came around the last bend, before he smelt that familiar smell of dirt and musky sweat. He crouched down and waited as, Lakken's wolf, Nikan, continued to walk the perimeter. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks and the expression changed to fear in a split second. This made Micco, flutter inside, cause fear is exactly what he wanted him to feel. Nikan took a step back and got into a defensive stance, preparing himself for a launch from Micco. Still crouched to the ground, Micco just stayed there, making sure he didn't break eye contact with his foe. After a few long moments, he straightened out his stance to where he would now have to look down on Lakken, as he was much bigger than him. Taking small strides to exert his dominance, Micco made his way across the meadow at the same time, Lakken has backed himself up to a line a trees. Seeing his foe corned made Micco snarl as if internally smirking. Lakken, surprisingly, leaped forward to make the first move, cause he knew he was gonna have to fight to prove himself. What he didn't know is that Micco has no intention of letting him survive. Micco just barely dodged the bite that Lakken tried to land on his neck. Instead his ended up nipping his hind leg as he leaped to the side. Not shaken by this attempt, Micco launches back, slamming his forhead right into the Lakken's side. Just as he made impact he heard a few snaps of ,what he believes to be, ribs fracturing. Lakken collapsed as he let up a screeching yelp. Micco let out a deep, nail curling snarl and waited for him to return to his feet. Moments passed and Lakken found the strength to launch another attack at Micco this time sinking his teeth deep into Micco's hip. The two continues to go back and forth until the wounds became to much. By now a few of Lakken's pack members had seen the the fight happening but did not interfere cause Lakken mind-linked them and told them it was a fight to show he could stand up for himself against Remi. One of the lower ranked she wolves ran off to call Nayeli to inform her of the fight. After a few more blows from Micco, Nikan had had enough and Lakken was ready to submit. This was very clear to Micco and he was gonna use it to his advantage. Circling each other a few times, Nikan walked up to the center of the meadow and bowed down in submission. For him he was ready to admit that, Micco, was the stronger of the two. Micco walked, with his head held high, towards the center and made his way up to stands directly across from Nikan. He took two long strides forward, to where his is now standing directly above him. Before anyone could make a move, Micco, with all his strength wrapped his jaws around Nikan's throat and with all his pressure he squeezed. Holding on long enough for Nikan to let out a defeated yelp, he shook his head on time and then heard a quick snap. Nikan went limp, so Micco dropped him and just walked off not looking back once.

Nayeli-

After hearing the gut wrenching news, I could not even respond. The phone just fell out of my hand and bounced twice across the floor before landing face down. All I could think to do was run, I had to get to Lakken, as soon as possible. With never, in in my life, seeing this side of Remi, I had no idea what to expect. Would he really sink so low, as to go harm him, and what exactly did he think he was proving. I dashed passed mom without even saying a word but I knew my face told a bit of the story, as I could here her screaming my name. I could feel the color leaving my face, I didn't have time to respond, I just kept running. Jump up and out across the porch, I quickly transformed. "Come on, Onida. I need you now, more than ever." Racing through the woods as fast as she could, we made our way twisting and turning around every bend that popped up, leaping over every fallen tree that got in our way. Nothing was gonna stop me from reaching that fight. I needed to Remi to see that Lakken is and never would be a threat to him. He was simply just the love of my life and that's when it happened. My entire world came to a screeching halt. I new that sound, that voice, it was Lakken. My heart sank when the final whimper went screaming through the trees. Tears started streaming down my faces like waterfalls, but I just can't accept it. That couldn't have been the cry of defeat, I just know it. Passing the last few trees, we finally came into the opening, and reality sank in. There stood Micco, tossing Lakken's limp body, to the ground like a rag doll. Turning around and strutting his way to the tree line like he was a champ. Once he was within a few feet of me, he suddenly acknowledged I was there. Only holding eye contact with me for a split second, he bolted through the forest and disappeared. Onida respected how I felt and shifted back. I ran to him and just held his wolf form in my lap and hugged him tight. "He can't be gone!" I screamed as I buried my face into his.
