The walk to Mattia's house was quiet as both boys let the events of the restaurant replay in their minds over and over. They knew a lot of people in their town were homophobic but they didn't think they would ever physically harm them.
Kairi looked like the life was drained out of him, they both walked through the front door and Kairi slowly started to walk up the stairs to Mattia's room. He curled up on the bed and let the same thought replay over again.
Mattia walked in and sat at the end of his bed, reaching out his hand and rubbing Kai's leg trying to comfort him but Kairi jumped back.
"Hey baby it's okay, it was just me. Don't be scared." Kairi looked like he was about to cry as his eyes met Mattia's with his arms wrapped around himself like he was trying to protect himself.
"I-I was so scared Matti, I t-thought I was next, I thought they were gonna hurt Alvaro. I-I-" Mattia pulled him into a hug and Kairi started to cry.
"Baby, it's okay. You're okay, Alvaro's okay, everybody is okay. Don't cry Kai." Kairi sniffled before pulling back and kissing Mattia, "T-thank you, Mattia."
"Of course bub."

Alvaro was crying and Alejandro tried to reach out to hug him but Alvaro just flinched and backed up.
"Ale, I-i'm sorry. I just-" Alejandro stopped him. "Baby it's okay, when you're ready just let me know okay? I'll be waiting right here to hug you bubba."
Alvaro made grabby hands toward him and Ale pulled him to his chest hugging him. "Don't be scared baby i'm here to protect you."
Alvaro leaned up and pecked his lips before they both cuddled and went to sleep.
