Chapter Three
Wednesday nights, the timer that showed we were just inching towards the weekends which was like a celebration on its own. It also was one of the busiest weeknights aside from friday nights. I work at Legacy Lounge, one of the most popular clubs in Miami and the only club that manages to hire me despite being the child of one of the most notorious men in Miami, my father.
The club was packed from the maximum from the way the parking lot was packed making me park all the way at the end of the underpass that was placed right next to the club.
I sighed to myself as I grabbed my backpack and duffle bag hiking it over my shoulder and closed the door and started to make the long walk to the entrance.
"Hey Sunny!" I overheard one of the dancers shout as I looked over at her as she walked to the entrance in full stripper attire making me lazily raise my hand.
Even though I was cool with having this job, nobody would dare see me dressed damn near naked in the streets. Even though I worked in a gentlemans club, I was still a shy young woman and the only way to have me open myself, you would have to break me or piss me off and that was in the same category.
I continued to walk down the parking lot as the rev from the car along with a honk caught me off guard making me look over.
"Lemme copy that paper you got?" I heard the voice making me squint trying to make out the face as I took a few steps closer only to see my classmate, J.D leaning on his car as he sported a black hoodie and jeans as he bent down to tie his red and black ones.
I smirked rolling my eyes, "I know you already finished your paper anyways unless you are about to do it before 11:59?"
"Like you?"
I groaned looking down at the time of my phone, "Look I had a lot of things to do, you wanna come in off my face?" I asked, putting my phone into my sweats pocket.
He looked down at his phone looking over at the busy streets. Even though J.D and I knew each other from school, I knew that he was into some things. I never bothered with it but I knew he used school as a getaway and knew that once he graduated he would be out of the game that he was deeply in.
"Nah I'm good, I'm waiting on my boys. I'll see you in there Sun." He said as I nodded my head and continued to walk, finally reaching the entrance, pushing through the long line of mostly men as they were thoroughly searched by entrance security and they let me in. I kept my head down maneuvering through the crowd and avoiding conversation with pervs.
"What's up lil mama, how were classes?" I bumped into the head of security Lamar opened the door for me as I gave him a small hug.
Lamar was like the older brother to me in this place and also like a personal bodyguard. Standing at a tall six foot seven and full of muscle, he made it his top priority to make sure that no one messed with me.He always said that I reminded him of his sister who passed away days before her high school graduation, she was exceptionally smart and had a great future ahead of her. He wanted to make sure that I made it out of the strip club and grilled me about my education and future. Aside from me, he also watched over another woman named Kiss who worked as a bartender.
