Her Boyfriend

Neighbor

     I knocked on Aaron's door and he answered. He saw me in tears and invited me inside. I sat down on his couch and he put his arm around me and tried to comfort me.

     "Did he hurt you?" He asked in his gentle voice. I just nodded and hugged him. He stood up.

     "Wait! He's not home right now," I said quietly. He sat back down next to me and he talked with me until I decided to get back to my own apartment. I realized it was already like seven o'clock. I sat on the couch quietly. Suddenly Ein walked in drunk. I stood up and braced myself. He walked over to me and shoved me to the ground. I sat up and ran for the door. I got out and banged on Aaron's door. He opened it and saw Ein trying to grab me. He pulled me behind him and glared at Ein. 

     "Hey, give her to me!" Ein yelled. 

     "He's drunk," I said into Aaron's ear.

     "No," Aaron said firmly. 

     "Come on she's my girlfriend," Ein slurred his words. 

     "I don't care. You have no right to hurt this innocent young woman," Aaron said.

     "Who are you to tell me what I can and can't do?" He asked.

     "I'm the guy who's going to keep you from hurting her," Aaron said reaching back to make sure I was ok. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it. 

     "G-Get out of my apartment!" I yelled.

     "Fine!" He yelled going back into my apartment. I looked up at Aaron as he turned around to hug me. I smiled as he held me tightly. 

     "If you want you can stay the night," He said in his gentle voice.

     "Ok," I said walking over to sit on the couch.

     "No, I'll sleep on the couch. You can sleep in my bed. You need some good rest," He said smiling at me.

     "I-I," He cut me off.

     "-I insist," He said. I sighed and agreed. He showed me where his room was and he went back to the couch. I fell asleep quickly in his room.
