You're Such a Dream to Me{Benny x reader}

1: The Golden Coast

 
~First POV~
    It was 6:00am at the New York City Airport and we were on our way to board our plane to California. I couldn't believe this was happening, I've spent 14 years in Manhattan and now we're moving away, away from close family, friends, and beautiful sites. But hey, at least I can have a fresh new start.

In the plane ride I just stared out the window and watched as the cotton clouds floated beneath the plane, ever so slowly; I decided to take a nap while listening to some music.

I felt light tapping on my shoulder and realized it was my mom who was waking me up.
"Y/n, time to wake up." She whispered to me.
I stretched as much as I could and yawned, I looked next to me and noticed the window down so I opened it and saw that we were about to land. I watched the plane get faster and closer to the ground and then touch down! The plane jumped up a bit before smoothly driving on the runway.
Once we got off we grabbed our luggage and got a taxi to our new car which my aunt bought for us since we got rid of ours before moving. We thanked the taxi and gave him the money we owed and hopped in the car.
"Are you excited to see our new house y/n?"
"Yup! I can't wait to see the backyard and my new room."
We drove for about 20 minutes until we finally arrived to a small house that looked to be 2 stories. It was a beige house with a dark brown roof and a white fence that surrounded it with one lemon tree in the front yard.

I got off the car and grabbed my luggage from the back of the car and headed upstairs to my new room. I set down my things and looked around. There was a window on the other side of the room and a closet to the right where the door is.
Hm, looks nice.
I rolled out my sleeping bag, in which I will be sleeping in with tonight since the moving truck will be here in 2 days. I put my softball bat and glove with my ball near the door and put up a Babe Ruth poster up on the other side of my closet. Once I finished I grabbed my glove and ball and headed to the front yard. I saw a small brick wall on the right side of the yard and started practicing grounders.
As I was in the middle of my own "practice" I heard rapid footsteps approaching my home's fence, I looked up and over the fence to see that it was a boy with blond hair and a blue cap with a "C" on it.
"Hi, I'm Scott Smalls, I'm your new neighbor."
"Hi Scott, I'm y/n, what brings you here?"
"Just wanted to say hi and I heard you practicing."
"Oh, yea I love playing ball."
"Me too! Hey maybe you can play with us, me and Benny are heading to the sandlot not far from here, if you'd like to go."
"That's sounds really nice but I have to eat, maybe another day?"
"Yea that's okay."
I then heard another pair of feet rushing towards me and saw another boy which I assumed was "Benny".
"Ready Smalls?" He said.
"Yup!" The boy 'Benny' then looked over to me,"Hi I'm Benny."
"Hi Benny, I'm y/n."
"Cool, well we gotta go, u coming?"
"No not today, sorry."
"That's alright, see you around!" He said already running with Smalls.
Wow. He's pretty fast.. but I bet Im faster. I was the fastest runner in my softball team.
I walked inside the house and told my parents about the two guys who invited me to play ball.
"Wow look at you, making friends already."
"I know right, took me longer in my old school."
I grabbed some Mac n cheese and sat at the table, happily.
