I don't know what happened. I was on a field trip with everyone else in my class on Mount Ebott, hanging out at the back. Then the teacher stopped to show us the hole where the monsters lived. Obviously, I was interested, so I leaned in to peer into the hole. Looks like I leaned too far and then I fell.
I could hear my teacher and my classmates shouting in fear, but I was falling fast--way fast. I'm no expert, but I believe I was falling 3 feet per second or something among those lines. My class's shouts were becoming dim and after a long time of falling, they disappeared.
So there I was. Falling. For what seemed like eternity. For a good amount of time (minutes? hours? days?) all I could see was muddy brown and all I could hear was the whoosh of the wind as I fell. I think I screamed when I fell in, but then it was either drowned out or I stopped.
Falling. Falling. Falling. And some more falling. It felt like after an eternity, I could see a hint of yellow on the ground. It was becoming more and more clear until I could see they were buttercups. And then I landed on them.
They softened my fall, but it didn't stop the fact that it hurt like hell. For a moment I just lay there. I had chosen my favorite shirt--leaf-green with one broad yellow stripe, and I had also brought my golden locket. Mom had chosen brown pants with pockets to stuff my pocket-knife in. Now they were all muddy and dirty as heck.
"Just to be safe." She had said. Yeah. To be safe. Now I was in the Underground with all the deadly monsters and all I had was a pocket-knife to defend myself. Yeah, I was so safe. They were probably gonna murder me because of that long-ago war. Wow, life was awesome. I heard footsteps and got ready to see a monster--a weird jello zombie thing with knifes etched in it's body--
"H-Hello? A-Are you okay--Oh my gosh! Y-You're a h-h-human!" I heard a voice and grudgingly lifted my head to see a Frankenstien-type monster with super-long claws and an axe in it's head that it could pull out at any moment--
And was some sort of kid--a goat kid. How do I explain it? It looked like a kid but it had white fur instead of skin and long droopy ears, and it was wearing a pale green shirt with yellow stripes. It had hand-like paws and rabbit-foot feet. He looked kind enough, sounded kind enough, but he could easily use those half-inch long claws to gut me any moment.
"Yeah. I'm a human. What are you?" Wow, that came out ruder than expected, but who cares. It could still kill me. He looked hurt, though--and it was hard not to feel guilty. Wait--kid, he's a monster, he could kill, and probably will kill you, stop feeling so damm guilty.
"M-Me? I-I'm a monster, though m-my name's A-Asriel." Okay, this poor goat child was definitely sincere. I pulled myself up--or tried to. I just fell on the ground again. Wow, I was shaky.
"Well, A-Asriel, it's nice to meet you." Said Asriel giggled slightly, and then walked over and offered his paw-hand. I just stared at it in confusion, was this goat child trying to help me? Shouldn't he be full of revenge and wanting to kill me as soon as possible?
"It's not A-Asriel, it's just plain old Asriel, and stop staring at my paw like Undyne stares at Alphys, I'm trying to help you. What's your name?" He continued holding out his paw-hand until I took it and he helped me stand.
"Thanks Asriel." I mumbled, and he walked towards an archway.
"By the way, it's Chara--my name is Chara."
