"We're heading to Snowdin to meat Dr. Gaster for something, and we were wondering if you two would like to come..?" Asgore had hardly finished talking before both of us screamed yes. What--I had hardly ever left Home and the only monsters I had met were the monsters that had plenty of other copies and the ghosts and my Goat Family.

I was now deeply regretting asking to go to Snowdin. It was freezing cold and I got stared at a whole damm lot. I spent most of the time walking to Gaster's pressed against Mom or Dad or Asriel for warmth. I really hoped the doctor's home would be warm, unlike the miserable chilliness out here.
"Ah! Here we are!" I looked up at Mom's voice and saw a medium-sized house with three mailboxes beside it. The first one was stuffed with so many letters that some were on the ground by its base and had plenty of others poking out of the sides. The second one seemed empty but if you looked pretty hard it looked stuffed. The last one was completely empty. We walked in and there was a cozy living room with dark red walls and a sock lying on the floor. And thank God, it was warm.
"SANS!!! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU TO PICK UP YOUR SOCKS?!?! THE KING AND QUEEN WILL BE HERE ANY MINUTE NOW!!!" A voice exploded from upstairs, followed by a string of seemingly angry 'Nyehs' and a laid-back child's voice.
"you have told me around a million times to pick up my socks, and i have answered that i can just use my magic." The laid-back voice said and the sock lying on the floor glowed blue and zoomed upstairs just as the scarred man I had seen when Dad talked to all the monsters zoomed down the stairs. He was wearing black clothes and on closer look had no arms. His eyes widened and he bowed.
"Your Majesties! And...your smaller Majesties(did i just make a Wings of Fire reference? yes, yes i did)!" He said hurriedly, bowing to Mom and Dad and then a smaller bow to Asriel and me. Toriel just smiled and Asgore sighed and rubbed his forehead. Asriel blushed as usual when he was referred to as royalty.
"Gaster, how many times have I told you not to call us 'Your Majesty'?" Asgore had hardly finished talking when Gaster replied with--
"Every time I've called you 'Your Majesty', and I have answered with that it is the formal thing to do." Said Gaster replied, and then he tilted his head slightly and me and Asriel.
"Erm--about your children, maybe we should go to the lab now." Asgore nodded and Toriel turned around to address us.
"Children, please stay here as me and your father head off with Gaster." Asriel nodded and yawned, stretching, and I gave Mom a thumbs-up. Dad smiled and followed Gaster alongside Toriel into the kitchen.
Asriel yawned again and laid down on the floor. I plopped down beside him. This was going to be a long night.

So. Asriel had fallen asleep a long time ago and I was also tired and about to curl up against Asriel when I heard something coming from upstairs.
"hey." I startled and looked up to see the kid that had been sitting on Gaster's head at the monster rally. He still wore the oversized blue hoodie, and was still smiling his whole-toothed smile.
"why didn't the skeleton go to the party?" He asked, and his grin seemed to get even wider, if that was somehow possible.
"Erm...why not?" I answered, trying to whisper as not to wake Asriel but so the small skeleton heard.
"because he had no-BODY to go with." I struggled to bite back a snort and kept a straight face as I spun up my own grand comeback.
"Hmm...that joke really tickled my..." The skeleton was on tenterhooks waiting to hear what I was gonna say.
"Funny-BONE." I continued, and the skeleton's eyesockets shone and he gave out a tiny squeal. He got up and ran down the stairs up to me.
"i'm sans. sans the skeleton." He held out his hand for a handshake and I accepted.
"I'm Chara--"
phhhhhhhfffft
Said Sans' smile seemed to widen and removed his hand to reveal a small round pink balloon-like thing attached to it.
"heh. the old whoopie-cushion in the hand trick. works every time." His grin seemed to become more genuine when a loud screech came from upstairs.
"oh--that must be papyrus. probably got scared by his own scarf again." Sans turned around and ran upstairs, then halfway up he paused.
"you can, y'know, come if you want. papyrus likes seeing new people. or monsters, in that matter." After thinking about it for a while, I agreed.

Sans pushed open the door that was closest to the stairs to reveal a small skeleton who was wearing an orange hoodie sitting in crib, trying to get as far away from the red scarf wrapped around his neck. Noticing Sans walking in, he let out a happy 'Nyeh!' and shuffled towards the bigger skeleton. Sans reached into the skeleton's crib and picked him up.
"Snans! Scawy snek in my cib!" He whined, pressing his face into Sans' hoodie's fur rim. Sans chuckled and laid the small skeleton on the ground.
"papyrus--that's your scarf, you little carrot. see?" Sans gently took the scarf and showed it to said Papyrus.
"besides--no snake could ever hurt the great papyrus, could it?" Papyrus squealed and nodded, standing up and raising his fists in the air.
"Yea! Nuffing could stap da GWEAT PABUS!" Papyrus puffed out his chest and grinned. Sans nodded and patted his little brother's head.
"Erm...Snans? Who dat monwer over dere?" Papyrus asked, pointing to me. I startled a bit and waved shyly. Sans picked him up and walked over to me.
"this is chara--second heir of the underground. wanna say hi?" Papyrus nodded and Sans held out the little skeleton.
"Erm--what?" Sans rolled his eyesockets and sighed.
"take the kid--take papyrus." I nodded awkwardly and held the scarf-wearing skeleton by his torso. Papyrus grinned.
"I'm Pabus! Dat's Snans, ma big bwother, and you must be Cawa, swevond woyal heir of da Unwermound!" I bit back a laugh and smiled instead, resisting the urge to correct Papyrus.
"Yup--I'm Chara, second royal heir of the Underground." Papyrus squealed with excitement and wriggled around to face Sans.
"Did u vear dat, Snans? I'm meetwing won of da heirs of da Unwermound!" Sans nodded and took Papyrus. There was a faint whoosh downstairs and Papyrus squealed again.
"DADSTER'S VERE!!" Papyrus wiggled out of Sans' arms and toddle-ran out of the room. I looked at Sans.
"Dadster? Seriously?" Sans shrugged and walked out of the room.
"he started it, and now it's a thing."
