~Percy~

The wizards seemed to take the demigod news okay. Well, they freaked out, but no one killed any of us or hexed us. It just took them a little while to get used to the idea that gods and goddesses existed, let alone demigods.

But after the initial shock had worn off, everyone in the castle became fixated on the prospect of the Christmas Eve Ball. Of course, I was taking Annabeth, Jason was taking Piper, Frank was taking Hazel, Leo was going with Calypso, Ron was going with Hermione and Harry with Ginny.

We walked down to the great hall altogether in a large group, laughing and teasing Harry and Ron about their dress robes as we did. None of us had ever seen wizarding dress robes before, and it was quite hysterical to see grown men dressed in outfits that highly resembled dressing gowns. All of the girls had acquired very beautiful dresses. Annabeth was dressed in a sea green, knee-length dress, which cascaded from her waist in folds of floaty fabric. She wore it with a thin golden belt with a brand new small bronze dagger, which she had received for her birthday the previous year, attached to the belt, and hanging in a sheath. Somehow this touch finished off the outfit very nicely.

Annabeth and I held hands as we walked down the stairs. I watched her carefully, taking in her appearance as we walked, her hair was in a loose waterfall braid, a few strands fell on her face that she kept brushing behind her ears.

My hand drifted to my pocket where I had stowed the small velvet box. It would stay there until the exact right moment.

We made our way through the doorstop the great hall, which had been transformed into a beautiful ballroom, complete with a live band, tables for people to sit at, twelve large Christmas trees placed at intervals around the walls and too many Christmas decorations to count. When we arrived the band (who must've been some famous wizard band based on the screams that came from the dancing crowd) were already playing, and the dance floor was packed. We all grinned at one another and hurried to join in the dancing. The song was a lively upbeat one, but it eventually came to an end. We all applauded as the band moved onto their next number, which was, unfortunately, a song that I recognised.

"She's just a girl and she's on fire," The band sung

"Someone get them to turn it off before Leo hears it, he's not here yet!" Piper yelled

"Hotter than a fantasy, lonely like a highway,

She's living in a world and it's on fire,

Filled with catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away."

I looked at the door and saw Leo and Calypso walking into the hall smiling and laughing, uh oh.

"Ohhhh oh-oh-oh-oh,

She got both feet on the ground

And she's burning it down,

Ohhhh oh-oh-oh-oh,

She got her head in the clouds

And she's not backing down."

"Everybody take cover!" Piper screamed, many of the students looked confused, but all of the demigods immediately dove under tables, pulling as many of the wizards down with us as we could.

"THIS GIRL IS ON FIRE!!!!!" Leo screamed and lit himself on fire. As soon as the rest of the wizards saw this, they got the message, and also dove under tables as Leo started running around the hall knocking things (and people who didn't get out of the way in time) over, soon the whole hall was bright with flames.

"Okay, I'll get it," I sighed when I saw to Annabeth's glare. I crawled out from under the table and raised my arms, the lake poured into the room and put all of the fire out, including Leo.

"Seriously dude, here?" I asked him as the lake water poured back out of the room, leaving a largely soggy room. All I had to do was pull the leftover moisture from the room and everything and everyone was dry again. The only remnants of the fire being the scorched tablecloths and Christmas decorations.

"Whatever dude," Leo said.

I rolled my eyes, figuring I had to move the topic of the stunning room on somehow. I reached for Annabeth's hand and pulled her up, only to get down on one knee as soon as she was on her feet.

I pulled the ring out.

"Annabeth chase, I'm going to spend forever with you no matter what. So will you marry me?"
