~Hermione~

For some reason this year it was compulsory for all students to take Ancient Runes. I had asked Professor Babbling about this change and why it had been made compulsory, and she simply answered that we would be studying myths which may become important to us. This answer just infuriated me further. However, so far we had just been studying normal runes as Professor Babbling attempted to bring the rest of the class up to speed with those who had taken the subject previously.

The ever-growing group of Harry, Ron, the Americas and I walked into the Runes classroom, we took seats somewhere in the middle of the room and began pulling our books and parchment from our bags.In the corner of my eye, I saw that Percy, Annabeth and Piper's books were in a language that looked unfamiliar and Jason and Frank's books were in what looked like Latin. This made me frown, but I shook it off, perhaps their school made them learn other languages, a good way to do this would certainly be to make their textbooks in another language.

"Okay class, today we'll be starting on our new topic, Greek myths," Professor Babbling called for the class' attention, "I would like to start off with a quiz to asses your prior knowledge, Parvati can you hand one of these out to each person please?" Parvati nodded and Professor Babbling handed the stack of paper from her desk to Parvati.

I noticed Percy shoot Jason a triumphant look and Jason stuck his tong out at Percy. Both Piper and Annabeth were grinning widely and Frank looked a little disgruntled.

"C'mon guys, it's not that hard, just put the Greek names instead of the Roman ones," Percy told Frank and Jason.

"Easy for you to say," Frank grumbled, "You know all the Greek names."

"You had your advantage in Transfiguration, I have my advantage in Ancient Runes, you're gonna have to learn to deal with that!" Percy retorted, I had no idea what they were talking about so I just ignored them, all of the quiz papers had been handed out by now, they all lay face down on our desks.

I feel like Annabeth and I are in competition to see who is the cleverest, and I feel like I know quite a lot about Greek myths. As a Muggleborn, I learnt about them in Primary school. Annabeth is a half-blood, so I don't know if she went to a Muggle school or not, I also don't know if Greek Myths are even on the syllabus in American schools.

Once Professor Babbling saw that all the papers were handed out and Parvati had taken her seat at the front of the class she said, "You can turn your papers over and begin the quiz."

I flipped over my paper and began answering the questions.

1. Name the Olympian gods:

I knew that there were twelve Olympian gods, and I was fairly sure I knew most of them, so I scribbled down the twelve names that I could remember.

Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Dionysius, Aphrodite, Ares, Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Hestia and Hades

2. Name the big three:

I knew that one of the big three gods was not an Olympian and that it began with a 'H'.

Zeus, Poseidon and Hermes

3. Name the father of the big three:

I remembered a vivid story of a Titan who ate his children for fear that they were more powerful that he was.

Kronos

4. What are demigods:

Children of the gods who are half human half god

5. Who was Hercules' dad:

This one stumped me, I did remember that it was one of the big three so I took an educated guess.

Poseidon

6. What is Hades the god of:

Messenger of the Gods, God of Travellers and Thieves

7. What is the name of Mother Earth:

I remembered that it began with a G, but I had always referred to her as 'Mother Earth'.

Grebe

8. Who is Chiron:

The immortal trainer of Demigods, half human, half horse, also knows as a centaur.

I risked a glance at Annabeth, she was leaning back in her chair, Percy was playing with her hair, Piper was poking Jason, and Jason was poking her back. Frank was the only one still working.

I went back to the quiz.

9. What is Aphrodite the god of:

Marriage

10. Who is married to Hephaestus:

Hera

That was the last question. I placed my quill down on the table.
