"THIS IS NOT how I wanted to spend my Wednesday..."

"Oh, shut up, Yoongi. It's not that bad."

"Easy for you to say," Yoongi snaps. "You don't have someone hanging off of your ear with their teeth right now!"

M/N giggles to himself on the living room couch while he watches the tiny kitten latch onto Yoongi's right ear with her mouth, her black little feet kicking about as she tries to climb the adult cat for fun. M/N wasn't even sure how she got up there. It looked a bit painful, (M/N couldn't imagine a human baby hanging off his ear with their teeth without wincing) but M/N notices how Yoongi refrains from hurting the kitten in any way and just deals with it.

'He likes to be all mean,' M/N thought, 'but he's a big softy on the inside...'

M/N's friend F/N had to go to their grandparents' house for the weekend, but they had no one to watch the kitten with their parents being away on business so M/N volunteered to take her in for the time being. Expectedly, Yoongi had some...mixed feelings about it (M/N reminds himself to clean the bathroom later), but he eventually came around to the idea.

"Ow!" Yoongi exclaims when the kitten finally lets go of his ear and plops onto the floor with a 'thud'. Yoongi's ear flicks erratically, and he licks his paw to clean it. "Goddamn, that hurts!"

M/N doesn't comment on the language, as he can imagine that it probably does.

The kitten is quick to stand back up and jump in circles around Yoongi, her paw swiping in the air as a sign that she still wants to play, but Yoongi is too focused on his ear to pay her any attention. The kitten bites Yoongi's tail to show that she doesn't like to be ignored, but the adult cat merely swats her away with a push from his free paw.

"Get lost, kid." Yoongi rolls his eyes.

The kitten, of course, doesn't listen to him and continues to play. M/N smiles softly while watching the two, but that smile is short lived when the front door opens and he hears his parents' voices carrying on a seemingly-heated conversation.

"You don't even know what she was going to say." M/N hears his father calmly explain.

M/N turns around to see his mother angrily tearing off her coat, and open her frowning lips to growl, "Oh, I know what she was going to say. I knew before she needed to open her big mouth to say it! You know how I feel-"

M/N's father places a hand on the small of his wife's back.

"Yes, I do know how you feel, but-"

M/N's mother is quick to interrupt her husband.

"Then, you would have known that I never wanted to go meet her in the first place! All she says is the same thing: that-"

Just then, the kitten meows when her body roughly meets the ground again, and makes the teenager's parents look over to see their son sitting on the couch in the living room. Their expressions instantly change into happier ones and that makes M/N frown, but he doesn't say anything, so his mother does.

"Honey, you're home?" Her eyes land onto the kitten, and her smile widens. "And, who's this?"

"K/N," he answers her, "and my friend asked me if she can stay for a while so I said sure."

"That's nice," the woman turns back to her husband and lowers her voice, but M/N is just barely able to make out her words. "We'll talk later."

She goes to walk away, but the teen's father gently catches the crook of her elbow as she turns around. She turns her head and gives him a silent look when he begins to open his mouth, and as if surrendering to his wife, snaps his lips shut and deeply exhales through his nostrils.

"Okay."

M/N's brows furrow in curiosity.

'What are they talking about?'

The kitten distracts the teen by biting at his ankle, and M/N looks down to gently shoo her away, but when the teen looks up his parents had already left to their room.

'Okay,' M/N thinks, 'I'm starting to get a bit annoyed here. Why can't they talk in front of me? What's with all the secrets?'

M/N glances over at Yoongi who was too busy cleaning his ear to notice his staring, and purses his lips.
