The Cats Of MistClan: The Stranger

Chapter 2: Gathering

The cats went to the large gully. Sunpaw stared in amazement.

"There's so many..." Sunpaw said. "I know, right?" It was Graypaw. Graypaw was one of the other apprentices. 

"Hey, do you think we should talk to some of the CaveClan apprentices?" Graypaw asked. "That sounds alright." Sunpaw nodded.

The two cats walked to a few CaveClan cats chatting with each other. "Well hi there." A white tom greeted. "Hello." Graypaw responded. "This is our first clan gathering." "It's mine too!" The CaveClan apprentice said.

"I'm Hailpaw, by the way." The white tom said. "This here is Nightpaw," He said, using his tail to point at a black she-cat. "and this is Snakepaw." He was now pointing at a black and white tom.

The five cats chatted and when they were done, Graypaw and Sunpaw just wandered around. They would often watch the kits play with each other.

After a while, it was time for the leaders of MistClan and CaveClan to announce. CaveClan's leader, Mothstar, was the first to announce.  "Due to the recent loss of Sootfeather, CaveClan has a new deputy, Needleclaw." Needleclaw was one of CaveClan's strongest warriors.

"Do you hear that again, Heavypaw." Sunpaw and Graypaw heard a voice from behind them. It was a white kit dappled with brown spots. "Your mentor is deputy!" A pale ginger tabby growled at the kit. "You think I don't know that, flea-brain? Shut up already, Rabbitkit."

Well that's not nice of him... Sunpaw thought. It was now Coalstar's turn to speak.

"We have five new apprentices. One, Rosepaw, is a medicine cat apprentice. Our other four apprentices are Riverpaw, Graypaw, Maplepaw, and Sunpaw." Coalstar announced.

After the leader's announcements, the clan cats continued to chat. After a while, the silver moon began to set, and the MistClan cats returned to camp.
